KikBkK8's new Big Bear Lake page

"Kate's Big Bear Page"
Big Bear Lake is my home away from home. The charm and alpine atmosphere
are irresistable, and the crisp fresh air is invigorating to say the least.
Since 1985, I have owned a time share at Lagonita Lodge, which is located
on the lake, and my family has had wonderful vacations there over the years,
and also remote camping in Holcomb Valley on the north side of the lake. As
it is a mere hours drive from my home, this vacation spot is truly accessable.
WELCOME TO BIG BEAR LAKE!

"Big Bear Lake - Fall 2001"
This is a dam photo taken from a fishing boat. :-) After an hour with the two kids, (they do fidget)
we ended up barely getting the fishing line wet! But...counting our 'blessings' we felt lucky to get back to the dock safe and dry!
"Ducks On Rocks"
Praying at this point that the kids remain seated in the boat...
"Water Level's Down"
Lake is looking really low-
"Beautiful Homes"
There are many gorgeous residences perched around the waterfront...very expensive homes, but some modest
cabins can be found on the north shore.
"Back To Lagonita Lodge"
Heading back to our timeshare at Lagonita Lodge, without fish for dinner, but we enjoyed our little
adventure just the same!
"Hiking In The Northern Mountains"
Actually the title is misleading, we drove on a dirt road up to this spot and walked 100 feet to view the old
mine dump.
"Beautiful Rustic Ruins"
The wind up here is always strong, and it cuts through the fabric of your clothing with a bite! Glad that it
is fall, for in winter it would be impassable on this
road. I know, I had to call a tow truck once from this
very spot because I was embedded in the deep snow!
"Breathtaking View"
Dad tries to tell his young son that the drop off is very steep at the edge of this mountain! Fortunately,
the chill in the autumn air forces us to run for the
cover of the car, shivering with chattering teeth, to
seek a warm meal back at the lodge. But the view is
awesome!
