Grand Slammer
by b1bob
It was a long box with 3 rows of seats- big enough to fit 40 or 50 people at a time. It is one of those balance rides with a counter weight. This ride remained right side up. Together with the Tampico Tumbler, the 2002 season was the last season for this ride.
See the" Seoul" and more of BP

Like most of southern California, BP has a very multi-ethnic look and feel. Notably, Asian culture is very present-especially Korean, but also Chinese, Vietnamese and others. Going down Beach Blvd or Artesia Blvd in the vicinity a traveller comes across many a Korean barbeque and different Asian-owned businesses. Buena Park is a significant shipping locale for Asian foods and goods to be distributed all over the state and country.
Wild Bill's Wild West

Wild Bill's offers an evening of extraordinary entertainment and finger-likin' good grub. You'll enjoy sparkling costumes, live western music, comedy and specialty acts. The generous meal includes soup, salad, chicken, ribs and baked beans. Fun for the entire family!
Entertainment Galore in an Otherwise Average Town

"Buena Park"
It is on the major tourist map of Southern California for its popular theme attractions- Knott's Berry Farm, Medieval Times and Movieland Wax Museum(closed but building still standing). If these did not exist, Buena Park would most likely be missed entirely by someone visiting out of area. Here, you find common folks, working-class with a growing middle class. Another segment of the population- Asian- Americans reside here at a growing rate but for the most part, Buena Park has a diverse population of various ethnicities.
To have more fun after visiting a theme park here, one can head on its main street, Beach Blvd to go (you guessed right) to the beach, Huntington Beach to be precise!
"A bit of Hollywood in O.C."
In a way, Hollywood and Buena Park are twin sister cities. They are not identical though as their distinctions are quite clear. While in reality, Holly is modest , it is still grand compared to Buena. Yet, they are strikingly similar when it comes to entertainment. Buena Park offers Ripley's Believe it or Not- almost an exact, mirror site of Hollywood.
Also, BP has Medeival Times, a nightly sword swinging show put on by hired knights Oh yes, there is a bit of the old times celebrated in So Cal after all :-) ! Nevermind that this is a fake representation of the old!
"A Buena Park symbol...."
Beauty witl blemish marks.
(statue) replica that is deface. I edited the obscenity in a red blot.
Old Memory in BP
by marinarena
"Memories..."
Well, sad to say but the Buena Park landmark, the Movieland Wax Musuem will be forever closed after Halloween, 2005. Yes, it was about the same as other wax museums in the US and indeed small scale compared Madame Troussard's in London. That this kind of place was even in " hum-drum" (or ordinary) Buena Park never ceases to amaze me! The oh so dominant Starbucks that was built right in front of the museum will likely still be there. A new restaurant will be built on the property soon. I would not be surprised if a Rainforest Cafe or overly commerical place will be built. More info to come when it arrives!!!
