More about Crowne Plaza - San Francisco Int'l Airport

Convenient, w/Many Extras

by A TripAdvisor Member

Crowne Plaza Burlingame, SFO Airport. Dramatic modern interior renovations, innovative furniture, supremely modern and upgraded throughout. Free SFO Airport shuttle runs on a continous loop. Adjacent to walking and jogging paths, as well as baseball fields and soccer pitches. My wife and I walked one block to a gas station conveinence store, and ended up sitting on a bench by the water watching the planes land and take off from the airport. We felt perfectly safe even in the mid-evening. A ten minute walk over a bridge will leave you in the quaint town of Burlingame. Many restaurants and pubs on the main street, which is framed with an overhead "Welcome to Burlingame" sign, similar to the one in Reno. Free shuttle provided by the city during day time hours will take you from hotel to Burlingame shopping. Take CAL TRAIN from the Broadway station in Burlingame (weekends only) to San Francisco for $ 7.00 round trip. Take the free shuttle to SFO and take BART into San Francisco. Hotel parking is an additional $ 19.00 per day. We booked rooms on the top two club floors, and enjoyed complimentary continental breakfast, and two cocktails each evening. Free (2) computer terminals in lobby with printer. Indoor pool and jacuzzi. Great weekend rates, as this hotel mostly cateres to the business crowd. With the exception of one rude reception clerk, who responded to my call with a rather rude "you just stand and wait for the shuttle at the airport," everything else was great. I would stay again.

this CP bites!

1) staff exhibit major attitude problem
2) the proximity to the 101 makes it very very noisy
3) what room card? had to re-validate it everyday
4) what executive lounge? it looked like it was a corner suite which had the doors widened so the hotel complies with need to have a lounge, oh and the afternoon session deos not exist
5) size of the room. we had what appear to be a room for the accessible challenged, however there's only a gap of no more than 30cm between end of bed and desk, no idea how someone who is accessible challenged will ever make it across to open or close the curtain

checked out after 2 days in what was suppose to be a 5 night stretch and moved literally next door to the HIX and it was like hell and heaven... hell = CP

Staff no good

I had my wedding here.... The wedding was nice, the staff was not. Especially both parking attendants. I was almost going to choke out the filipino woman in the booth. If you get free parking through your room card you gotta re-validate it every single day. The security there were also rude. The desk staff were cool. Anyhow, in my opinion half of the staff have a chip on their shoulders. I think its a cultural issue. In the end, I paid too much for what was offered. The rooms are tiny, even the deluxe and presidential room.. If you don't want a tiny hotel room go somewhere else. Will never go back again and do not recommend anyone else too.

Great hotel for a business stay

I had a business conference in the Bay Area that was actually held at the Crowne Plaza in Foster City. However, I registered for the event late and all the rooms in Foster City were sold out. The Crown Plaza in Burlingame was less than five miles away, so I booked a room there. I am so glad I stayed here rather than Foster City, which from what other conference attendees said, was dark and old fashioned!!

The rooms here, while a bit on the small side, are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. There was a CD player with a CD of very relaxing music. They also had a sleep mask, ear plugs and lavender linen spray in the room. The staff was great. Room service is quick and effecient...and the food was great.

There was plenty of parking and even though the hotel is near the airport, I slept very well. This is a great hotel for business travelers and I would recommend it to anyone.
