Does anyone have any spa suggestions a Calistoga mud bath experience?

My favorite is Indian Hot Springs. 707.942.4913. It is an older facility with an olympic size pool, heated with water from the geysers.

Indian Springs Resort is the place. We did not get to try the mud bath, but loved our stay there in the darling bungalows. They also have a heated Olympic size pool that spa guests can use until 5:00. Resort guests have until midnight to soak and relax. Highly recommend ISR! www.indianspringscalistoga.com is the website. :)

I booked a couple's package online at the Lincoln Avenue Spa. We went with the deluxe package which included a massage, salt scrub, deluxe facial, and mud (in that order). We did some research on the mud baths and although they heat the mud up, it does not get changed often enough to our liking. We liked the idea of the "wine mud" at Lincoln Avenue much better. Overall, we had a great experience. We loved the steam tables that you go into after the mud application. The difference between the web site picture of the steam table and what we got was they show a double table on the site. We had singles which seemed to work out better. The tables were aligned vertically. We were a bit disappointed that the massage and facials were cut short on time. Our visit was during the last week of September 2006. There is a 10% off coupon here, http://dayguide.com/napa/lincoln.shtml. They honored it on our spa packages. Our package cost including tax for the two of us was $603. The web site for the Lincoln Avenue Spa is http://www.lincolnavenuespa.com/.
Travel Tips for Calistoga
It must be the water
by karenincalifornia
Calistoga is also the home of the Calistoga Mineral Water Company. In Northern California, you will find sparkling Calistoga water all over the place. It's almost as pervasive as wine. Instead of saying "I'll have one of them Co-colers", the locals here ask for "one of them Calistogas". Non-purists (the same types who would order a guava margarita or a pumpkin cheesecake) buy some of those flavored waters, but I've always thought the original non-flavored sparkling water is best. The sparkling mineral water does really come out of the ground in its sparkling state. The bottling plant was built around a geyser, and the geyser water now ends up on your table. Calistoga Mineral Water Company is now owned by a mega-corp., Nestle, but it still is good.

"This is the Place to Come"
Coming to Calistoga was a last minute decision, so no we did not take a Mud Bath here although the area is famous for those Mud Bath's. We did however park the car on main street and got out and walked into a couple of stores and up and down the street to check things out.
I had been on a big Abraham Lincoln kick this year and was amused that the main street from Calistoga was Lincoln Avenue.
There are a number of different towns in Wine Country and in some of the bigger ones. like Calistoga you could probably spent up to at least a half a day strolling down the main street, having a quick or long bite to eat and checking out the local shops.

Our time in Calistoga was limited, but well spent. We came, we took a mud bath, we tasted some wine, and we left. The weather was perfect, the wine was delicious, and we loved Calistoga. We left wishing we could have stayed longer, but we had other places to see!
