This is absolutely the best place to stay in all of Napa Valley! We have stayed here 8 times at least and have always had a great time. Darla is sweet and nice and a great hostess. Delicious breakfasts are a treat and a really nice part is you can have it in your room or in the dining area if you are into the traditional B&B mode. They also serve yummy appetizers and all types of Napa Valley wine in the early evening. Make your reservation now (but don't take our room) and you will have a great time! Enjoy!
Quails Roost Weekend

We just got back from this B & B for the weekend and had a fantastic time. The location of this hotel is perfect for wine tasting and using as a central landing point to the Napa Valley! Darla and her team were great at offering recommendations for local wineries and helping with dinner reservations. Our breakfast was wonderful, and the room was great! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Darla is amazing! She works very hard at making your stay memorable and comfortable. She exceeded our expectations. We have never been so spoiled or cared for. She is so personable and thoughtful. The food is amazing, as well as, the private wine tasting we participated in every evening. It felt like we were family staying with our favorite aunt. We can't wait to go back. It is now our new home away from home!

We spent an incredible 3 days in the Quails Roost. Darla and her group are incredible. The PassPort idea is fantastic, and we were greeted everywhere we went by people who loved the Foothill House. The room was AMAZING! Breakfast was incredible, and Darla's knowledge of the wine country and the wineries is second to none.
We will be back, with friends!
Unforgettable

This was our first time to stay in a B & B and it was just wonderful.
We had our 6 year old grandson with us and Darla took the time to talk to him and show him all around, she even brought books and movies for him to watch.
We were so impressed we took her to dinner.
Thank you Darla for your time with us. I'm sure Brody will never forget it.
We had such a good time we will be back, Foothill House is a wonderful place to visit and stay.

I just found this site and had to remark about "our" Inn, The Foothill House. Obviously we are repeat customers having spent the last 15 July 7th's in "our" Redwood Room. We discovered this Inn for our honeymoon in 1990 and have it booked for every July 7th until we are not on this earth! We have been through three owners. Started with Susan, then Gus & Dora and now since this past year, we have Darla. I wish her all the best, just don't mess with our room!! Through the 12 years that Gus and Dora had the Inn, they even contacted us to let us know they were redoing our room to see how we would feel about it. One time, Gus made a mistake and forgot our booking. When we arrived the guests that were in our Redwood Room were upgraded to the Quails Roost just so we could have our room! Like you read on this site, it is so romantic, so private, so peaceful. You are pampered and spoiled with the best food and service and helpful Wine Country suggestions. The breakfast is too die for. It is so fun the way it arrives on your porch in a little basket. The bed is turned down each night with killer secret recipe cookies and sherry and a little bear holding a book of poetry. The rooms are always perfectly clean and all very beautiful with very nice antique furnishings and wonderful cotton bed linens and towels. We've seen every room but always want our Redwood Room. There is a diary in each room that the guests are encouraged to write in. I have written something each year and it is always so fun to look back through the books and to see who and where other guests are from, people from every part of this world have found this Inn. I guess the secret it out! As long as everyone is as passionate as we are about the Inn, It will okay for you to visit "our" Inn! Enjoy.... Kristine & Michael

Beyond Excellect!! The Foothill House is the best place we ever stayed in Napa (and probably anywhere else!). Darla's attention to detail is incrediable. The lady truly knows the meaning of hospitality and service. She really knows how to run a B and B! She even sent us off with a "road pack" of her cookies for the drive home :-) Our suite was a haven. This a truly a home away from home. We will definately return soon!!
The Best B&B Ever

This is the best B&B we've ever stayed at. We're very leery about website photos because oftentimes pictures and details are not the reality. Well, not only were they accurate, our stay proved to be better than we expected. The owner/chef Darla added to the pleasures. We stayed in the Evergreen Suite and it was charming and cozy. Darla's gourmet breakfasts were an added treat. She made us feel like "family" but afforded us privacy and space. This is a must for anyone who travels to Calistoga. An experience at Foothill House and with Darla will only enhance your visit to the wine country.

This was my first experience staying at Foothill House. We were a party of 10 celebrating our niece's 30th birthday. Darla was the "hostess with the mostest!!! From the moment we checked in, she made us feel like family. The rooms were darling and immaculately clean. We stayed in the Quail's Roost and it was fabulous!!! A firplace in the bathroom and a shower that looked onto a cascading waterfall, plus our own private patio! Her breakfasts were gourmet quality as was her wine in the evening for cocktail hour. Afer an afternoon touring the wine country, it was heaven to return to our wonderful inn.
Darla really knows how to run a B&B. Her attention to detail is evident in every facet of this establishment, plus her knowledge of the area was helpful. We hated to leave and can hardly wait to return once again!!!!

We rented all the rooms for family reunion....Could not have had a better time. Food, service, owner reach a new level... Do not miss the breakfeast It is a feast in its self. We wil go back.... probablly soon!!!
