Riverside to Carlsbad
by PattiGillespie
I'm planning a trip to Legoland in Carlsbad. What trains would I catch from Riveride La Sierra to Carlsbad?
Re: Riverside to Carlsbad

From Riverside, take the Inland-Orange County Metrolink Line to the Oceanside station. There, transfer to the Coaster train southbound toward San Diego. At the Carlsbad Poinsetta station, get off and take the NCTD "Breeze" 321 to Legoland.
You can buy a single regional day pass to use for the Coaster and Breeze routes, but it won't work for Metrolink, which requires a separate fare. I also don't think the regional pass is cheaper than actually paying the fares on both the train and bus, even round-trip.
You could also take a taxi from Oceanside, which may be cheaper depending on how many people you have with you.

Why do they drive big pickup trucks?
by matcrazy1
I was a little surprised seeing maybe not very many but quite many large or even very big pickup trucks in Carlsbad.
In Europe (even in warm/hot Mediterranean areas) and even more in Poland they are much less popular at least for the three reasons, I suppose:
- unreasonable price,
- weather (snow, rains),
- they are unpractical (easy to steal unlocked/uncovered loadings).
And they are supposed to be mainly farmers' vehicles in European warmer countries.
Why are they so popular there - in a city? What do you think?
My first idea: FOR THEIR BIG DOGS :-))). Enlarge my picture, please.
VOICE 1 (from the USA):
Americans generally like everything big because that means power and money. Its probably a cultural thing, because its not usually very practical.
Since when does someone need a 2300kg vehicle to take kids to school?? LOL

No more Twin Inns
by matcrazy1
The increased traffic made it necessary to enlarge the Twin Inns. The Rotunda Salon was added in 1922. In 1936 the lobby and front rooms were remodeled to provide more space. By 1950 the combination of increased business and local street widening projects had made parking a major problem. The old Wadsworth House was razed to provide parking in what is now the north lot. In February 1961, Art and D.D. Morgan, son-in-law Eddie Kentner, Sr., took over the management of the family restaurant. They were succeeded in November 1969, by Bonnie and Eddie Kentner, Jr. In April 1984 the Kentner family sold the historic Twin Inns building and all its land. The new owners changed the name from the Twin Inns to Neimans upon completion of an extensive restoration in 1985.
The new and present owner acquired Neimans in August of 1996. Another extensive renovation was completed in November when a stage was erected and entertainment was offered. The elegant old Victorian mansion is now ready to offer a second hundred years of fine dining and service to San Diego's North County.

by spartan about Spirito's Restaurant & Pizzeria
Whether you choose pizza, pasta, salad, a meat or chicken entree, you can't go wrong at Spirito's. Pleasant decor but not fancy, Spirito's is a favorite with local families (casual attire is fine and there's a children's menu). Pizza and the antipasta
