BEST view of Pacific Ocean

Perched high on acres of private wooded land directly overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Hyatt Highlands Inn is the perfect retreat for those who are looking for a luxurious first class resort which caters to your every need. The moment you make your reservation, you become an important concern for the hotel. You will receive a nice welcome reservation confirmation and another one just prior to your arrival. Wind your way up the secluded drive to the Inn, and upon reaching the circular drive entrance in front of the Inn, you will be welcomed by a valet with both "open arms" and open doors to your auto. A smile and warm "Hello" greet you and escort you to the check in. Once your suitcases are gathered and ready to accompany you to your room/suite , the porter will show you to your room, where a fireplace waits ready for you to light the match and begin your wonderful journey while in Carmel-by-the-sea. Even the fireplace has its own charm. No such thing as newspapers "stuffed" randomly under real logs. No. How "tacky". lol. These newspapers are carefully rolled into spiral cones and lined up neatly under the thin slivers of kindling which ignites immediately and warms both the room and your heart. Plenty of tender and larger logs sit in a bucket next to the fireplace. Each day these are replenished and the fireplace readied once again for your enjoyment. Should you need more logs than in the room, a wood stack is nearby. All rooms have a view of the Pacific Ocean and the one we had must have been the best the Inn had to offer. It had two balconies, one of which overlooked the ocean directly below and the other balcony overlooked the pool and courtyard. As you might expect of a first-class resort, the room was supplied with many nice amenities such as hairdryer, bath toiletries, iron and ironing board, suitcase rack, refrigerator, bar, computer hookup, wifi, a luxurious terry robe.

Unique Quality: The sliding glass doors out to the ocean-side balcony afforded us a magnificent view 24 hours of the Pacific and the balcony was a delightful location to enjoy a breathtaking breakfast or sunset drink.
Even had some seagulls who joined us. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The parking valet greeted you every time you returned to the Inn, parked you car, and secured it. When you were ready to leave at any time, a simple call to his phone instantly produced your car ready and waiting for your departure. The grounds are well groomed and laden with flowers everywhere. We were there in October and the entrance was graced with huge pumpkins and fall flowers. The interior of the Inn is fairly contemporary, airy, and nicely decorated. The minute you step inside, you have a magnificent view directly to the Pacific. The main dining room is wall-to-wall windows overlooking the cliffs below, the white waters of crashing waves, and the typical rocky coast . Many people make sure they are there at sunset to enjoy a relaxing drink and watch the sun sink into the ocean. Ahhhh........

EXQUISITELY BEAUTIFUL & COMFORTABLE

For an amazing experience, stay at the Highlands Inn while in Carmel. A friend & I stayed there several years ago & it is one of the most romantic & enjoyable places anyone could experience. We had a great time. If you don't plan to stay at the Inn, at least stop by and have one of their delicious Irish coffees which is huge, sit by the all glass wall overlooking the pine trees, the cliffs and the crashing waves below. It's really a little touch of heaven. Or, have dinner in their beautiful dining room, the food is outstanding. Yes, if you're in Carmel, be sure to include a visit to The Highlands Inn. It's extraordinary.

Unique Quality: Guest suites & rooms are separate from the main building. The jacuzzi in the bedrooms of some of the suites is big enough for two and is a lot of fun. Also, many rooms have fireplaces. All the buildings sit in the middle of an evergreen forest.

It's expensive but definitely worth it.

The web site photos don't capture the beauty of
the Inn and it's grounds.
