Shopping in Chester
Mt. Lassen over ChesterIn the Shadow of Mount Lassen -
"And on the Banks of Lake Almanor -"
This is how I have come to know this homey little mountain town called Chester.
Because Chico is very hot in the summertime (100-110F), many of the long-time families of Chico (some of whom have been my friends for the past 10 years) have cabins at Lake Almanor. Traditionally, Mom & the kids leave once school is out and spend their summer at the cabin. Dad stays in Chico during the week to work, then joins the family on the weekend.
And, if you're lucky like we are, your friends invite you to join them upon occasion!
"The Town of Chester"
One of the things we like to do when we're staying at a cabin is to go shopping in Chester because the town has many cute little shops and boutiques.
"The Views"
Chester is a mountain town, surrounded by pine forests and nestled in the shadow of Mount Lassen - still considered to be an active volcano although its last eruption was in 1915.
