Roughing It In The City

I stayed in this KOA years ago when my sons were small. We couldn't afford a real vacation so we just went to the KOA for a few days to "pretend" we were far from home. We had a tent to stay in and a camp stove to cook on. The boys had a great time at the rec-center and spent hours in the pool. Mostly I watched them and cooked on that camp stove. It was an interesting experience and a good preperation for a trip we took later through California and Nevada staying at KOAs.

Unique Quality: This is a fun and inexpensive way of travel. There are K0As around the country and if you like camping this is the way to go.

The Chula Vista KOA is just north of downtown, surrounded by hills, giving the feel of being out in the country. There is a general store, a recreation center, a swimming pool and places for parking a van, RV, or to set up a tent.
