No gymnastics!
by matcrazy1
The parking places were just much bigger in Chula Vista than I used to see in Europe, at least in most European old towns.
There was no gymnastics needed when I got out of your car in parking lots in Chula Vista. We have smaller cars, smaller parking places and narrow streets in Europe.
They drive bigger cars
by matcrazy1
Their cars are bigger than I used to see around Europe. Especially the smallest ones are at least one size bigger than in Europe.
Hmm... do they ever drive such cars like Toyota Yaris or Nissan Micra? I have never seen them there.
More: when they say midsize car they mean a car like Nissan Altima for example, hmm... it is rather big, family car at least in my (European and/or Polish?) mind hehe.
A Gift To Us All
by lmkluque
Every year on the 15th of December the residents of Whitney and Mankato Streets cover their houses with the most spectacular display of Christmas lights, scenes and music for all who drive or walk past, to see.
A simple message of Merry Christmas, Peace on Earth and Good Will Toward Man.
If ever in Chula Vista at Christmas time, take a tour and enjoy the gift.
Whitney and Mankato Streets are between First and Second Avenues in the older residential section of the downtown area of Chula Vista.
When did they smile?
by matcrazy1
Do you want the whole list? OK, top 5:
1. when we ordered a pizza in Filippi's Pizza Grotto,
2. when we didn't know how to find fresh bread in a supermarket,
3. when they gave us a pizza,
4. when we came in Wal-Mart,
5. when we replied that we are from Poland.
Hmm... sunny weather, happy population or they just accept the world around them whatever it is?
From LINDA (lmkluque):
When you see people smiling all over the place it is usually for one of two reasons.
One, because they are happy people.
Two, because the business they work for INSIST that they smile at customers. Of course, after one gets used to smiling everytime they see someone, it becomes a habit. :-)

Just palm trees
by matcrazy1
There are quite a lot of palm trees along streets in Chula Vista.
Nothing special?
Hmm... maybe for you, but for me palm trees are always something unusual - when I see them I always think about my holidays :-).
I remeber when one company put a big palm tree as... a Christmas tree in a Polish capitol's downtown just before Christmas a few years ago.
Haha, there were a lot of people visiting this unusual tree that time - I watched it on TV :-). If your company ever enters Polish market I suggest to do the same, believe me - it's the best commercial hehe.
