Kayaking in Clearlake
"Cache Creek Paddling"
It's great to paddle down Cache Creek on a lazy summer afternoon. You can go from the lake to the dam in a few hours. Along the way you may see eagles, herons, egrets, and we even saw a pair of bear cubs by the dam last fall.
The water is placid and in the spring is quite high. About May you'll see huge carp mating if you take your kayak into the shallows. It's quite something to be in the midst of these monsters roiling the water.
