Romantic historic landmark

The Del was built in 1888 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977. For some it is one of the top ten resorts in the world.

I stayed here for 3 days and was nice but nothing out of this world. The rooms in the main building are comfortable but the ones in the annex (see my other post) are better although you may feel like you aren't staying at the old Del. The beach area is beautiful and where you'll spend most of your time while at the hotel.

More about Coronado Beach Resort

Actually, Coronado Beach's...

by acemj

Actually, Coronado Beach's path is probably getting more and more beaten now that it's been voted one of America's best beaches. It has a decidedly relaxed, family atmosphere and a stunning backdrop in the Hotel Del.

When I lived in San Diego, I used to usually go to either Solana Beach or Del Mar (at 19th Street), but Coronado is a great place for families.

Coronado Beach

by matcrazy1

Whenever you are in Coronado you simply must visit the Coronado Beach - it's a sandy beach, well equipped in all beach facilities. No words... it's just a beautiful area.

The Travel Channel names Coronado as one of North America's Top 10 Beaches - no wonder.

By the way, I have never seen rocky beaches with people sitting/lieying on the rocks (hehe) in the USA, is it exclusively European custom?

From LINDA (lmkluque):
The correct term is Coronado Beach, not Coronado Pacific Beach. Coronado Beach is a beach area on the Pacific Ocean. There is a place called Pacific Beach between Mission Beach and La Jolla.
Thank you Linda.

To do's . ..

You should definitely visit the Hotel Del Coronado. If you like the beach check out one of America's finest, Coronado Beach. To soak up the generally upscale and laid back atmosphere of the island, take a stroll along the main drag, Orange Avenue.

Appartments by the Pacific Ocean

by matcrazy1

There are a few tall appartment buidings in Coronado next to the Coronado Beach. Hmmm... they don't look pretty although these appartments must be expensive, I am sure - perfect location, am I wrong?
