In 1902, El Cordova was built architecturally, in the Spanish style as a countryside mansion and by 1930 had been converted into a hotel. Over the years it has been restored and preserved to maintain it's charm and beauty. Surrounding the hotel are arched walkways a lovely courtyard as well as shops and one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Miguel's Cocina with thatched covered patio dining.
This hotel is located at the south end of Orange Avenue. Across the street is the Hotel Del Coronado, and a block west is the Pacific Ocean. For those not using a car to get around, there is a bus stop near the front entrance of El Cordova.
