Seaside Cottage: Honeymoon Destination

This is a well appointed, immaculate, and very comfortable little cottage for two to four guests, just 150 yards from beach access. Everything is here that anyone would want on a vacation to America's Wild Rivers Coast. Seaside Cottage has one bedroom with queen feather bed, bath, dining area, complete kitchen, comfortable living room with couch that folds out to a queen size bed, and sun porch.

Unique Quality: This little cottage with ocean view is outstanding in every way. It's completely furnished with new couch, recliner, feather bed, etc. There are even hand carved replicas of the two local lighthouses and the Trinidad Lighthouse. The seaside theme is carried out both inside and on the building exterior and landscaping.
Special fresh roasted coffee beans are ready to be ground for morning coffee Juice and pastries are provided for the first morning, along with coffee, tea and hot cocoa. Bicycles and kites are available for guests, as well as an hour tour for first timers to this spectacular coastal area of Northern California. The owner lives next door and is ready to help with anything needed to make your stay more comfortable or complete.

LIghthouse View Vacation Rental: Lighthouse View-ish

Overall, a good value, but it depends what you want. We had a great time because we just wanted to hang out, take walks on the beach, cook a little and relax with a book. If you're looking for nightlife, this is not what you want.

It was deemed "the best lodging in Crescent City" by the contractor, which I thought may have been a little overrated. The house was nice, but a little strange (as were a lot of things in town). The house is very new but it felt like a kit house or something because of the exterior and what not.

The upstairs observation room, although nice, would have been WAY better as a porch instead of an enclosed area with an interior sliding glass door. The furnishings were nice though and all the linens were supplied. And maybe I'm just picky, but a little fabric softener would have gone a long way with the sheets and towels. Just a thought.

The kitchen was great, probably the best feature of the house. It's fully stocked with new pots and pans, utensils, plenty of plates and glasses and all new appliances. It was a delight to cook in and the dishwasher was pretty quiet.

The walk to the shore is very short and we enjoyed walking along the Pebble Beach road and dropping down to the shore here and there.

It was about $150 a night, I would expect a place like this to be about $100 a night. But that's just me.

Unique Quality: It has an observation room that claims to have a lighthouse view, which it does, but it's obstructed by a big blue house with a dog and cat that sleep on the roof. The occupants had a HUGE three day long garage sale while we were visiting. Terrific.
