A Block From the Ocean

This hotel is right on the main drag--Camino Del Mar at the south end of the busiest part of Del Mar Village. Between the street and the hotel is a large parking lot--free parking they advertise--and it makes the place look defunct. If not for the small neon sign it is easy to miss. Even with the small neon sign and the live colorful flowers at the entrance, I did pass it by.

I gather that the amenities are minimal and not really up to Del Mar standards, but they allow dogs--$50.00 deposit / $20.00 cleaning fee--and they are just two short blocks from the beach.

The real problem is the awful state of the parking lot. However, free parking in Del Mar is worth gold, so the ugly front my be a blessing in disguise as the hotel has only 10 (Well, maybe now it is 12) rooms.

Unique Quality: Each room is dedicated to a particular artist, Diego Rivera (Mexican decor,) Monet (French countryside) and Remington (USA western,) are a few to consider.

Some rooms have small balconies / patios, most rooms are small and continental breakfast and coffee are offered every morning. This is not a full service hotel, rather a private hide-away. No one would ever think of looking for you here.
