Mid Century Vintage Desert Design Excellence

I stayed at the Hope Spring for the first time over the labor day weekend, and THOROUGHLY enjoyed my stay. While it was over 100 degrees in the desert, the hotel was comfortable cool and very pleasant. Needing to recuperate, I decided that I would bring my own food and not step outside the front door for the entirety of my 2 night stay.

The pool was refreshing enough. The warm pool was lovely and the hot pool was very good at night as well. The hotel doesn't allow cell phones around the pool and everyone seemed to relish the calm, peace and quiet.

There were only 8 people at the hotel (only 10 rooms surrounding the pool) in a mid century motel that is landscaped beautifully with desert cactus, kangaroo plants in full flower, and bougainvillea.

Rooms are cool, with polished concrete floors, and platform beds.

Unique Quality: The special thing about this hotel is the car and special heart that goes into this place. Chloe who runs the place is an excellent cook and she puts out quite a nice homey spread for breakfast including a frittata (the day I was there) and fresh fruits, cheeses, baked goods and more. If you're a vintage fan, the hotel boasts vintage russel wright dishware, and the fab 50s style design through out. It's pretty great.

Also there are stunning views of Mt. San Jacinto.

It's a very calming and peaceful place and that's how the folks who visit here like it. No kids allowed.

You can also book massages at the spa, although everything was booked the days I was there - it being labor day.

(I paid $175 + tax on the labor day weekend)

The Hope Spa. Right next door...

The Hope Spa.

Right next door to the Emerald Springs Resort was the Hope Spa which was a little nicer, and a little more hip. You felt that Hollywood Stars were hiding out with their mistresses here. Very quiet, clean, and beautifully, zenfully decorated.

No rooms available for us, so we went next door.
$125 weekday. Weekend??
