We had a great time here, very laid back and friendly place. The main lodge rooms range from cozy to HUGE. The lower rooms have lovely sitting areas with harbor/river views. I loved pulliing the chairs/sofa over to the front windows, opening the window and hanging my feet out in TOTAL RELAXATION. Great view of the harbor/marina. The sea lions can be loud at times, sea gulls pipe in, too. The only occasional annoyance was the Coast Guard "testing drill" at 7 am, they have to test their horn and PA. Not a big deal. Fun to watch the fishing boats leave.
Unique Quality: You can just watch the boats, or go down the block and catch a charter boat fishing trip for a half day. Only $70, and they'll filet and vacuum seal your catch if you want.
The lodge has an assortment of rooms. Breakfast is nice - especially if you can sit out on the deck overlooking the harbor. (Weather permitting)
Some of the rooms have supposed "ghosts", but I never had any thrills or visits. The room's journals are fun to read, though, and full of good tips for your stay.
We love the main lodge rooms, and room 6 is a separate cottage, with a killer BIG tub and a private deck. Very nice if you're planning on screaming in ecstasy! ;-)
Directions: Off Hwy 1 over the bridge, right on North Harbor drive, look to the left about 1/2 mile down.
