Travel Tips for Half Moon Bay

Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins....

by SJTravel

For the greatest variety of pumpkins, I recommend going to Half Moon Bay. There are plenty of pumpkins to choose from at the many Pumpkin Patches in the coastal town. You have your regular sugar variety (great for eating) and they come in many shapes and sizes. Cinderella pumkpins that look like they can turn into Cinderella's coach. Fairytale pumkins, which change colors (green to orange)...I think they are my favorite. They also have Long Island Cheesecake, Bootle Necks, and so many more of different colors and sizes. If you are curious about the different types, ask someone at a pumkin patch, they would be more than happy to talk to you about them. Also, you can get some fun ideas for displays.

Half Moon Bay

by cnango

Half Moon Bay is located about 30 miles south of San Francisco. This quiet little beachtown has numerous Bed and Breakfasts. Local activities include surfing, whale watching, horseback riding on the beach, a historical Main Street with unique shops, two wineries, bird refuges, hiking and two lighthouses. It is also home to the Arnold Palmer designed Half Moon Bay Golf Links.

We were just passing through on our way up North but we did stop to snap a few shots of the picturesque coastline & the historical little church. In the future I would like to stay in one of the charming Bed & Breakfasts for a fun weekend getaway.
