Good hotels in Half Moon Bay /Pacifica area

by lilylilylily

I will be in Silicon valley on business for a week in Feb and I'd like to stay in a hotel near the coast and commute into San Jose each day. Can anyone recommend a good business hotel with a pool, wireless internet, and as close to the beach as possible?
thanks

It is a long commute from Half Moon Bay to San Jose. The road across the Santa Cruz mountains is long and windy. You might consider Santa Cruz instead.
This is the one hotel on the beach in town: www.dreaminnsantacruz.com

The road from Santa Cruz into San Jose (Highway 17) is a little straighter than the one from Half Moon Bay (Highway 92), but still has enough curves and bends to make things interesting especially if there is rain or sleet that day (it is rainy season there).

The only other thing about staying on the coast is to make sure you look at the traffic report each morning before you go. Any kind of accident in the mountains will add anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours to your commute.

I'll suggest two options....Try the Oceano Hotel and Spa located at Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay. It offers everything you seek. For a real adventure and beautiful place to stay, try the Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel. It offers everything you want except the pool, and I must say it is a spectalcular place to stay. Maybe even give it a go for one or two nights.
