Undecided on Hotel
I will be in Hollywood mid October with my 13 yr old daughter and I'm tied between 2 hotels.
Days Inn Hollywood/ Near Universal Studios
7023 Sunset Boulevard
and
Hollywood Days Inn
5410 Hollywood Blvd
Can anyone suggest one or the other? Which is a better location and better to stay at.

Depends on why you're in the area and where you're going from the hotel...but Sunset is a better location especially if you don't have a car. Also look at Holiday Inn on Highland Ave, sometimes they have a special rate comparable to Days Inn and it is much nicer.

Thanks for the info. We will have a car. We are going to Universal and will be doing shopping.

Not sure if the Days Inn Sunset or the Holiday Inn on Highland have free parking, but the Sunset Days is an easy walk to shopping at Hollywood and Highland, and a short drive down Sunset to Beverly Hills shopping and fun. Don't drive to Universal, take the subway - you can get a $3 all day pass to ride subways and busses. It is a quick subway ride from Hollywood and Highland to Universal, then a short walk to the park shuttle.
Hollywood Blvd Days Inn is not in a good area for walking at night.

Check out the coupons at roomsaver.com, you may be able to find a nicer place than the Days Inn for about the same price if they are offering their coupon price on the dates of your stay.
Comfort Inn Highland would be a great place to stay for you if the price was right.
