a WONDERFUL experience
My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to get away for a weekend before the summer was over, so we looked all over the place online until we found the Miramonte Resort. I had read all of the available reviews of the resort and was slightly apprehensive about what to expect, but figured that it wouldn't be hard to just give it a chance.
And thank goodness we ended up going with it. Not only did we get an insanely great deal for the place, because it was off-season (85 a night, with taxes and resort fee included), the resort was just beautiful. We had read a lot of reviews where people really had a problem with the service and the courtesy of the staff...but it was pretty unfounded, at least from what we experienced. We received confirmation of our reservation right after we booked it online, and we got a follow-up call to make sure that we were still on for the reservation. We were treated with the utmost respect at check-in, even though we are in our early 20's and booked everything online. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful. Whenever we needed anything, we just asked and it was taken care of.
As far as room service goes, we really just wanted to relax and laze around for a weekend...so we didn't leave the room the second day until late afternoon to go to the pool...room service checked with us three times before we were finally ready for them to clean the room, but they were patient and nice and polite nonetheless. So I don't know how people didn't get "adequate room service" before...
Everywhere I turned, there seemed to be great service. The resort was also just...so nice and beautiful. The architecture was tuscan, as the advertisments say, and there are many different paths that you can take a pleasant walk on. The rooms are spacious (we just had the standard room and it had a beautiful king-sized bed and a padded bench at the foot, the tv and surrounding cabinet, and a living room type of space next to all of this. There's even two different sinks, one for the bathroom and one just outside of it, for convenience. And there is an adult-only pool, which was kind of small, and a open-to-all pool, located within a few minutes of a walk from each other.
There's a Ralph's and other stores a (maybe) ten minute drive away, which is where we bought some food and champagne and stocked up on snacks. (sidenote: if you want to use the fridge, just let the front desk know so that they can give you the key to open it). There's also plenty of parking around each of the buildings.
I can't really think of much else to add...my boyfriend and I both had an absolutely wonderful experience with the resort. I would definitely recommend it for others.
