Best Western Date Tree Hotel

The grounds and lobby while not new are clean and inviting. The service at the front desk was quick and efficient. The room was clean and well furnished. We just had a 1 night stay here as our week was done at the other resort we were staying at. Unfortunately we only slept so-so as this location is quite near some fairly busy, noisy railroad tracks.

Unique Quality: We definitely appreciated and made use of the wireless internet access. The choice and selection in the morning breakfast bar definitely surpassed our expectations. Definitely a bonus! Apart from being near the tracks it's fairly easy to get to just off of I-10

Directions: near Old Town Indio and the Interstate

At arrival we where greeted by the manager, he took all the time we needed to explain the ammenities of the hotel. But one thing i will never forget, since i couldn't manage to upload pictures on the pc's in the reception area, not even after some help from the manager. He took me to the his office upstairs, i connected my camera and it worked.

Then he just left, leaving me alone in his office to enable me to send some pictures to family and friends. For me it was once again that there are still people who have trust in complete strangers and i really appreciated the trust.

Unique Quality: The hotel room was equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and there also was a DVD player. In the reception area is a wall of DVD's which can be "rented" for free.

Also in the reception area there are 2 pc's which are free to use. If you are going here and want to upload some pictures be sure to take a "mini" card reader with you. The drivers for your camera might not install.

The rooms where clean had a sofa and a nice and comfortable bed.

Directions: From: The west. Interstate 10 West to Monroe Street Exit. Make a left to Indio Boulevard and left on Indio Boulevard.

From: The east. Take Interstate 10 East to the Indio Boulevard Exit. Proceed 1½ miles.

This trip through California during the 3 weeks we spend 80% in BW hotels, this one we were very pleasantly surprised by the staff explaning everything in detail, the DVD offer was very much appreciated by the kids (Borat) , breakfast and rooms great, The only minus was the pool which seemed to be dirty
