Kettleman Park

by Yaqui

We do not like always eating in the fast food places. We usually get our food and try to find a park to sit at because it is usually quieter. In the middle of the city is a lovely little park.

Once you exit from Interstate 5, head north on Hwy 41 and turn left on General Petroleum Ave and the park is on the right.

~Kettleman City~

by Yaqui

El Camino Viejo Camp was located at the mouth of El Arroyo de las Garzas and this was where Dave Kettleman made this his home in 1860 and started a ranch where he raised cattle and sheep. A land developer A. Manford Brown founded the city 1929, when the post office was established. The branch library was established in 1930. Although the town is still very small, it still thrives with having access to the Interstate 5.

Most would think there is no city here, but there is north of all the fast food establishments. Kettleman City is known for a travelers stop along Interstate 5. There are many places to get gas, food, or to just relax.
