While certainly the Temecula Valley wineries are still in their infancy, and the quality cannot compare to "fine wines" as yet, a journey to Temecula is a fabulous way to spend a day. A 1 1/2 hour drive north brings you to this charming area that is booming with population growth. The increasing housing developments do not detract from the quaintness of the small wineries all lined up on one roadway. Go to the Hart Winery and meet the grower, a former teacher with a passion for wine. Baily, Thornton, and Cilurzo all create interesting wines. Have lunch in the sun overlooking the vines, and ask yourself can life get any better than this!
