Very Nice Suites

This is a great hotel. It has a nice Lobby with a little shop and a couple restaurants and bars. i ate at the restaurant twice, i ordered different kinds of chicken dishes and both were delicious. The best thing about the hotel are the suites. This suite was really nice. It had a very modern feel. The couch in the living room was very comfortable and it had a good size plasma TV to watch the games on. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed was comfortable. The living room had a nice view of Ocean Blvd and part of the Pacific Ocean, including the Pike, Queen Mary and Shoreline Village. My friend stayed in the regular rooms which looked very nice, but i thought were a little small. All in all a excellent place to stay.

nice upgrade in central area of LB

Stayed here w/my wife and son in August '05. They've done a lot of remodeling since the other reviews and the rooms are very very clean, beds all have new linens and mattresses (nice), and the views are great. Only drawback is the traffic noise on the street side rooms - hence one star off a 5. Ocean blvd is a busy, noisy street and there isn't a lot they can do about it. If you're a super light sleeper you may need earplugs, but I have yet to stay in a downtown motel *anywhere* that this isn't true. that said, the hotel staff were all very friendly and accomodating, and room service was prompt and courteous. Free buses pick you up right outside to whisk you to the Queen Mary, Acquarium, etc. Would recommend this hotel if you want to be centrally located in Long Beach near all the attractions.

Unique Quality: Nice pool, great views

Good for Conferences

I stayed here to attend a large conference at the Long Beach Convention Center. The hotel was great because it was just across the street from the convention center, the rooms were very nice, and we even had a view of the pier. The room was pretty pricey, but it was extremely convenient for the conference.

Unique Quality: The hotel had nicely furnished rooms, a large lobby with a bar, and a rooftop outdoor swimming pool. Also, the doormen were very helpful.
