    I stayed here on a business trip, so I don't remember how affordable it was. The lobby and interior use a lot of outdated bare cement columns, particularly dismal in winter. The hotel features something they call the "heavenly bed" and the "heavenly shower"--still not sure what was supposed to be heavenly about them, but everything was clean and in order. My coworker mentioned that he could hear the phone conversations of the person in the room next to his, but I didn't have any problems like that.

    What I liked was the concierge staff--supernice and helpful. They gave us lots of maps, a great restaurant list we used every night, and some tourist magazines.

    The concierge staff is the best part of this hotel. The other good thing is that the restaurant on top of it is said to have one of the best views of the city.

    A few movies where shot in this hotel. Two that come to mind right away are True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jaime Lee Curtis and In the Line Of Fire with Clint Eastwood. I know there were a number of others i just cant remember the names.
    Also if you are in downtown on the weekend there might be plenty of detours. On the weekends especially, sometimes during the week days, they are always filming in this area.

    I spent a long time just walking around and exploring the hotel. There were alot of interesting art all over the place. there was alos alot of fountains and plants everywhere. The hotel is very modern in style and very elegant. Theres wide open spaces and many windows.

    I used to come to the Bonaventure a long time ago for parties, dances, and concerts. it has been a while since i had been here but i can see why they refer to the Bonaventure as the "city within the City". This place is very big, you can actually get lost in here.
    On this occassion, my uncles who are jewelers in the Jewelery District here in Downtown decided to get a room enstead of driving all the way back to Palmdale. So we went to dinner and drinks and i got a chance to take some pictures of the room here. Considering the Bonaventure is such a large hotel the rooms are rather small.
    The are 42 restaurants, shops, and boutiques. There are 1354 rooms as well, and i beleive something like 135 suites.
    The prices of the rooms fluctuate quite a bit depending on what is going on in the city. The lowest price i have seen to stay here was 135.00 per night but it can go as high a over 250.00 dollars. On this particualr night the rooms were going for 185.00 per night. Last week they were going for 289.00 per night. And of course the suites are more expensive. The Bonaventure caters to the business traveler and there is a business center downstairs. Some of the rooms are also geared for the business traveler.

    The lobby is a six story lobby/atrium, and the building is in the shape of five cylinder shaped towers. Inside the building is mostly made of concrete.
    The elevators shoots through the roof of the atrium and up the outside of the building.

    Westin Bonaventure is said to be the largest hotel in downtown LA with 1,368 rooms and 155 suites in its 35 floor structure. This landmark building has 5 towers. Its 6-level atrium lobby is adorned with splashing fountains and scenic elevators.

    If the elevator seemed familiar to you, it was because one of the scenes of True Lies of Arnold Schwarzenneger was shot there.

    Large conventions are usually held here so expect large crowds.

    The room has nice views of the city and provides coffee/tea and toiletries. There's also a Pool and fitness center.

    The sixth floor of the hotel is connected to a pedestrian walkway that will lead you to YMCA and the top of Bunker Hill Steps.

    5th and 6th floors have independent restaurants that are budget friendly. Hey, they've got Subway there too.

    3 blocks away is the 7th/Metro Light Rail which can take you to Universal Studios and Hollywood, etc. A block away is a bus stop for Sta. Monica Beach and Beverly Hills.

    Concierge is friendly and can point you to top tourist spots.

    5 star. Very clean facility.

    The rotating cocktail lounge on the 21st floor is a great view of the city.
    The atrium has a gym with running track integrated.
    It is close to the metro from which you can access Pasadena, Hollywood and Long Beach.
    There are lots of things to do in Downtown LA.
    Nice clean pools.

  • The Wilshire Grand Hotel rooms are equipped with all thats necessary to make your trip unique. The hotel includes various shops, a coffee-shop and 2 restaurants (American and japanese food). There's also a fitness room located at the lobby level as well as an outdoor jacuzzi and pool (heated).
    The hotel is located "face to face" to the 7th Street Metro station, what makes it possible to get to any place in the L.A. area from there.
    Starbucks, Macys Shopping Plaza and restaurants are located near the Wilshire Grand.

    Excellent Japanese restaurant located in the ground floor, excellent service and friendly staff. In my opinion: "The best place to stay in Downtown for an acceptable price"

  • very close to LAX so excellent for first day and last day. Its a very big hotel located near the airport and far away from holywood...
    there is a private parking lot.

  • The hotel beverly garland was located in north hollywood nice quiet hotel within easy access of the town center.

    Free shuttle bus to universal studios and universal boardwalk..small swimming pool..nice bar often frequented by some of the more famous residents.
