Hiking along the beach
by freespirit13
While I was in LA, I went hiking on the rocks overlooking the beach for about 5 hours. It was awesome. The thrill of jumping, reaching or climbing from rock to rock combined with the crashing waves below made for a great day. I would like to mention that this was actually north of LA, closer to the Camarillo outlets and Zuma beach. We took this winding highway (the 21, I think) and just parked the car and walked down to the rocks.
Hollywood

First thing arriving L.A. was... shopping! We stopped over in Citadell Factory Outlet for an hour, then go directly to HOLLYWOOD!!! This city is really exiciting! So much different from San Francisco and San Diego, so happening!
Movie Star Coming...

Finally, back to Hollywood Bldv., and looks like they have a big "First-night" movie show here at Chinese Theatre as they blocked the theatre entrance and rolled out the red carpets. Many fans were sitting on the streets, waiting for their idols.
Adding to the jeans and t-shirt...

In the summer, a nice pair of leather flip-flops with your jeans will blend you in nicely. Make sure your jeans are long enough to drag the ground a little at your heal. Don't wear "Wrangler" jeans, they may still be illegal. Cargo shorts will also work with your t-shirt, which shouldn't mention anything associated with Los Angeles except for Universities. If you want to wear something to tell people what your favorite movie or TV show is, get a fleece or windbreaker. They look like crew jackets and people will think you work on the show.
Suits are pretty uncommon for business meetings, but you can always ask someone's assistant what people wear to their office. I've been in a studio meeting where the most important guy was wearing pajama bottoms and no shirt. (No, it wasn't in Chatsworth.) If you're headed to an evening function, like a business dinner or opening, and will wear a suit, wear a colored shirt that matches your tie. If you wear a white shirt, people will assume you're the venue manager.
