    There are certain things I love about a Marriott hotel. This one seemed to take them all to higher levels. The bathrooms looked liek they were brand new, the food service was open 24 hours, and even the chair at the desk seemed to be some kind of ergonomicaly perfect chair. It wasn't just like home, it was actually better. But I am poor, and have bad furniture. It is in a great location (near LAX) and is remarkably quiet, all things considered.

    The hotel doesn't have any really outstanding qualities that set it apart from every other hotel. But it is just a level of service and comfort that seem to be above many of the hotels in the area. Plus, it is close to the beach, a lot of golf courses, and you can hit downtown pretty fast. Other than that, the pool, fitness room, high spped internet, food, etc. are all the same types of things you would find elsewhere, just to a higher standard.

  • Courtyard by Marriott - LAX. Not cheap but close to the airport especially when you have just spent near on 20 hours flying getting to LA! US$89 - Internet booking rate.

  • Rooms here are quite spacious for a 2.5 star hotel.

    No pool, but there is a spa. However, you can show your room key at the Marriott down the street and use their wonderful pool. Rooms are spacious, and a bit strangely divided, but offer a lot of closet space. Can sometimes find street parking on the street behind the hotel. Also, there are refrigerators in the rooms.
