Need advice about where to stay in LA

by christinemacken

I will be in LA Oct 3 to 5.This is my first time to visit LA. I'm going to a concert at Greek Theatre Oct 5th evening. Some things I would like to do while in LA is go to the beach, the Farmers Market and the LA County Art Gallery. I'm not particularly interested in movie stars or touring the studios. I'm thinking of staying in Santa Monica because of the beach, however is this too out of the way for the Greek Theatre and would I be better off if I stay somewhere in Hollywood Blvd area. If I stay Santa Monica is it possible to get a cab from Greek back to S. Monica after the show? And do you have recommendations for hotels either in S. Monica, or somewhere near the Greek?? Thanks so much for your help,

I don't recommend any hotel near the Greek Theatre as I have not stayed at any of them but here is a list of hotels near the Greek on a concerts website: http://www.concerthotels.com/venue-hotels/greek-theatre-hotels/310155?batchsize=10&filter=&page=1&sort=1#list

Maybe the Best Western Hollywood Hills would be a good option, but there is not much near The Greek, save Hollywood. Some hotels down Vermont, which would seem like a good idea, but becomes dicey.

Cab fare from The Greek to Santa Monica would be $50 easily. You could get something in Hollywood for one night to cut down on that. But, really, the Greek is not easily accessible by any means.

How to choose Best Travel Agents for Your Vacation

by raxcy017

Travel agents are not considering as often as in the past due to the beginning of the Internet. However, they are still a great resource of information and provide you with an entire range of services, which will make your trip, run easily, as well as save you time, problem, and cash. Here is the process you should follow when choosing a travel agent.

Things you will need to do:

o Date, Place, and price range of Your Trip.
o List of agencies in your near by area.
o List of query

A good quality travel agent will ask you to outline your trip. They will ask where you’re going and why, how you would wish to travel, how long you plan to stay, and what your travel budget is. Be open and honest with your answers. A good agent will gladly put together a sample tours that describes availabilities in transportation, accommodations, and estimated costs.

Steps for Choosing Best Travel Agents

Recognize your needs
A good travel agent will always take your needs into thought. However, while an agent will typically ask questions to bring out this type of information from you (and you should take it as a bad sign if the agent does not), you will also need to do your part by speaking your mind.
• Clarify the main purpose of your trip.
• Decide where you want to go and when, making sure the trip will fit into everyone's plan.
• Choose your mode of transportation, whether it's Airline, Cruise, rental car, or something else fully.
• Try to determine a realistic budget for your trip based on all your other considerations.
Ask the right questions
Once you have pointed your choices, call around to ask questions. You should ask most of these questions to person, in addition, when you meet with those agents:
• What kind of travel do you specialize in?
• Can I contact you 24 hours a day?
• Which services do you charge for and how much will they cost?
Meet With Travel Agents
Travel arrangements like shopping of any car and other commodity, if you are too eager to jump on a deal right away. When you do meet with travel agents don't feel required to purchase anything. As you start to discuss travel options with an agent you like, keep these guidelines in mind:
• Do not rely on vocal agreements alone.
• Do not suppose your accommodations will look as impressive as they do in the glossy direct mail.
• Always read out the paperwork carefully before you sign on it, especially when it comes to package deals.
Finding a best travel agent might a little complicated at first, but it could simplify your life vastly. I would like to suggest you few best travel agents website as I found while searching on Google. These are Airtkt.com, Cheapfareguru.com, Eros Tours & Travel Inc., Latinfare.com.

Visit Santa Monica. That place...

by Kinho

Visit Santa Monica. That place is really beatifull. We first went there in a gap between our morning arrival from Brazil and our evening departure to Australia, and it was just so great that we decided that in our way back to Brazil, we would stay a few days more than previously planned. Don't miss the pier, the 3th street promenade and the promenade by the sand.

First and foremost it will have to be the beaches. If you come to site see, then I will still suggest the beaches. I miss the beach. The sunset setting over the buildings in the sky and the waves crashing on the shore

Santa Monica Beach

by draguza

It’s easy to see why Santa Monica is considered the first choice for a Southern California beach vacation. This seaside city blends the charm and appeal of a coastal getaway with an unforgettable beach and the sophistication of an urban center—a magnetic combination.
Santa Monica's stunning beach is the city’s greatest natural asset. Blessed with 3.5 miles of broad sandy coastline and more than 340 days of sunshine per year, Santa Monica serves as the perfect backdrop for the sun-kissed, fit California beach lifestyle With manned lifeguard stations, casual eateries, equipment rental spots, public fitness and activity facilities, a fabulous bike trail, wooden pathways for beachgoers with disabilities and warm days (daytime temperatures average mid-60s to low 70s F in winter and 80s F in the summer), it's not hard to see why Santa Monica State Beach is a favorite destination for people of all ages.

Los Angeles Tip

by Krystynn

No trip to Los Angeles is quite complete if you don't drop by HOLLYWOOD... if only to appease your curiosity. :-)

If there is one landmark that screams 'Hollywood' to the world - literally! - it is the world famous Hollywood Sign... perched high atop Mount Lee, the tallest peak in L.A. The best way to see the Hollywood Sign is to drive up Beachwood Drive (just north of busy Hollywood Boulevard). The Sign is clearly visible most of the way up Beachwood.....

Please check out my travel page on 'HOLLYWOOD' for more info. Thanks!
