We actually had no idea of what could be the best location in town, L.A being so extended… It seemed quite central to us and I think it was a good choice, but it depends on what you intend to do or visit.
Our room was spacious, as it is often the case in the United States. Even hotel chain like Motel 6 are relatively roomy.
We had a large bed and enough room for another king size.
Staff was friendly.
We were satisfied. Not thrilled, but satisfied enough.
The only negative point concerned the breakfast, which was not included. We received a discount ticket for a breakfast at the Chinese next door. There's an access directly from the lobby. But it is not worth it at all, not that good and quite expensive compared to what you can get elsewhere for the same price.
We stayed there for 4 nights - 3 upon arrival and 1 the day before we left, which was great because we could return the rented car to Alamo at the airport and go back to Howard Johnson by foot. But hotels also have free shuttles to and from the airport if you don’t want to walk :-)
