Celeb sightings: the scoop by jbel2879
I wanted to see celebs in LA in a slightly dorky but slightly ironic way. I mean, we have lots of celebs in New York, but I think it's a different breed of celebrity out in LA. So Lisa and I set off for Melrose Avenue to find them.And did we! It was sort of a rising scale of celebrity all day and we gathered many silly stories along the way. First we saw an American Idol, couldn't tell you his name, but he seemed a little taken with himself. Then we saw the Backstreet Boy named Brian (?) which was hilarious - it was in the dressing room of Urban Outfitters and Lisa and I were trying on ridiculous outfits. I think I came out wearing a bright pink tube top and a camoflage mini and bumped right into him. I should note that we had a few drinks at lunch. Finally, the finale was that we saw Rosie Perez from the movie White Men Can't Jump, and I yelled (drunkenly), "What is Mount 'Suvius?." I may never be able to set foot in that store again. On the way home, we saw Carrot Top and the girl from the TV show 7th Heaven. Like I said, LA definitely breeds a certain kind of celebrity. It apparently turns normal New Yorkers into drunken idiots at 1 in the afternoon as well!
