Jolly Roger Hotel: Is it in its name? No, it is not in its namen

I found this an affordable, safe and very clean hotel in beautiful Marina del Rey (near Venice Beach). It was recommended by a friend an I'm amazed it is not in this list. I had a very large room with everything with it, a bath, a large bed, tv, fridge, microwave and airconditioning. The staff was very friendly and the price included a breakfast in its lovely patio. For under $95! And, ok, the name is strange, but then, it dates from the sixties, i've been told, and they wanted a happy, jolly name. (by the way, two of my nieces are called 'Happy' and 'Jolly', so I do have a bias). Check in!

Unique Quality: Vey nice patio. Spacious room. Very clean. Friendly staff.
With easy access from and to Los Angeles Airport (LAX) and world class beache within walking distance.

Hostelling International Santa Monica: The best place to stay in L.A

Probely the best place to stay in L.A. The hoatel situated right in the heat of Santa Monica. 5 mins walk fro mthe beach and that famous Santa Monica pier. There also id daily tours from the hostel of Los Angeles, trips to Dysney, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Six Flags and the Movie Stars Homes depending on how many peope they have for the tour.

Unique Quality: Tours of LA.
5 mins from the beach and 5 mins from 6th street in the hearth of Santa Monica.

Always excellent....spent 4 year of college visiting my daughter here....and rarely took a picture.

Marriot Resident Inn (Oxnard): Family Travel+ Golf

As far as I rezlised, many tourists staying in this hotel are either family or come here to play golf. When I woke up 8 in the morning, there people already having their fun in the golf course, which located just next to the hotel.

Marriot Resident Inn (Oxnard): Heated Spa/Pool = Quiet + Relaxed

This is the first hotel / resort I ever visited that accomodate 2 heated swimming pools and 3 heated outdoor spas within the resort area. I was the only one using the pool early in the morning... overlooking the green in golf course, pretty relaxing experience!

Malibu Beach Inn: Best Malibu Hotel

Beautiful, classic California getaway spot - in the heart of Malibu! A bit pricey, but worth it. Malibu pier to the right, and the Malibu Country Mart is down the road for great shopping. Also, Solstice Canyon down the road off PCH for a wonderful, beautiful hike. I highly recommend this place. And very romantic! :-)

Unique Quality: Also, wonderful continental breakfast in the AM in the lobby overlooking the beach. Eat outside on the patio with the sound of the waves crashing in the distance.... ah... you won't want to leave.

Seashore Motel: Location, Location, Location

This hotel is all about location. It is not a fancy hotel (although I hear it just got remodeled) but as far as location goes, I think it is one of the best locations in LA. It is right in the heart of cool Main Street in Santa Monica. You will be within walking distance of restaurants, coffeeshops and the beach.
