GOOD FOR THE GIRLSCOUT'S MONEY
VERY EASY TO FIND FOR A FIRST TIMER WHO TOOK A BUS FROM LAX USING WILSHIRE .IT WAS JUST A BLOCK FROM THE CORNER OF 7TH ST AND MAIN TO THE RIGHT OF HOTEL CECIL.THE STAFF ARE NICE AND ACCOMODATING.THE PLACE IS CLEAN THE WHOLE DAY.THE ROOM WHERE I WAS UPGRADED TO WAS COMFORTABLE .THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS THE BATHROOM AND THE TOILET WERE IN THE HALLWAY AND IS SHARED BY EVERYONE IN THE FLOOR.THE BATHROOMS THOUGH SIMPLE WERE CLEAN ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN I WAS THERE THERE WAS NO WASTE CAN IN THE BATHROOM NOR TABLES TO PLACE THE TOILETRIES SO ONE NEEDS A CADDY FOR THE PERSONAL STUFF ONE WOULD USE.MAYBE 39 DOLLARS PER DAY EXCLUDING TAX IS A VERY CHEAP PRICE TO PAY FOR SUCH ACCOMODATION W/C WAS REALLY AN UPGRADE FROM BUNK BED TO SINGLE QUEEN BED W/ BIG HDTV,PHONE, SIDE TABLES AND SINK IN THE ROOM.AND DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES MIGHT BE PRICEY SO MAYBE I DID GET A GOOD THING FOR MY MONEY....

Staying in LA
Hi,
Travelling to LA in January of next year and don't even know where to begin. Will be spending 5 days in LA before driving to Las Vages.
Any advise or tips on Hotels / good hostels to stay at would be a great start and much appreciated, I am travelling by myself and hoping to stick to a budget.
First of many questions I am sure. Thanks....

Near in Los Angeles Airport area has 3 star hotel if you want to save some money. There are some inn to stay and they provide good customer service. It depends what part of LA you want to stay, LA is a big city but there is a lot of tourist spot that is good to visit. LA to Las Vegas drive is about 3 1/2 hours driving time, but it defends on the day, if you will drive during weekend, it will take a little bit longer co'z most of people in LA go to Vegas during weekend.

For me it would depend on whether or not you have a car, and what you are hoping to visit while in L.A. ie beaches, museums, shopping, movie tours etc?

Will be hiring a car, thought I would drive to Mexico and spend a night. Other than that I was hoping to do a lot of walking, is this a good idea?
