Holliwood star
by HouseRiver
As an instrument for diffusing social - not political - liberality to the nation, Los Angeles
has as credentials its "Holliwood morals"
its "beach barbarians" and other outdoor -
-leisure enthusiasts, its legacy of in-migrants
and transients, and its big - city offerings of
anonymity and the support of
fellow-followers.

Go have Chicken and Waffles at Roscoe's. Be sure to arrive hungry. And take a souvenir of the place, otherwise people will say 'Chicken and WHAT?' Also, take your shoes off and walk in the surf line at the beach. Take both close up and distance photos to remind you of the blissful day in L.A. While riding on the Venice Beach bike path I saw two dolphins who seemed to be swimming along with me. This was years ago, about 7 am. It was a magical moment during my pre-workday bike ride.

Santa Monica marks the western end of the historic Route 66. This photo of the Will Rogers plaque was taken at the intersection of Santa Monica Blvd. and Ocean Ave. The historic Route 66 or U.S. Highway 66 runs from Chicago, IL, to Santa Monica, CA, a distance of 2,448 miles (3,940 km). The states it passes through are Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.

When in Los Angeles Check out the TV Shows. My Favorite is the Price is Right. This show is fun once you go through the processing. Everyone, about 320 People per show are interviewed and IDed and you must go through a metal detector. This can take as early as 8am for a 1pm show. You should get there early and take your place on seats on one side of the building outside. I watched the Soap Opera Stars arrive while waiting to get my ticket numbered. Once you get your ticket numbered the next place is on the side of the building. Then you sit in sections according to your number. Ex 1-50,51-100 ETC. Then they line you up and give you your namr tag after showing a Drivers License and giving them a card. Then your off to the next side of the building where the Producer interviews you in groups of about 7 at a time. He will ask several Questions and can signal his secretary on who He wants. Then you go through Security scanning before going into the Studio. The Shows goes fast once your in. You dont know if you are going to be called until they call names during the show. After 4 shows I never got called down. Bob Barker is 77 and just signed another 5 year contract to do the show that long. The worse part of the show is when they need one more contestant and its not you. Its still fun and I wish I was there. They give away super great prizes but you must pay taxes on the things.
Tipping or Ransom?

Take note of a high handed ways tour guides demand a fixed amount of tips.
Had a bad experience from Bravo Travel which is located at Monterey Park (http://www.bravotravel.com/)
Generally giving tips is ok but the way the tour guides from this company demand them are somewhat pathetic when they can't even offer a basic service (Can't even form a sentence in English and some even can't speak English).
Simply pathetic and travellers should avoid this company at all cost.
