Los Angeles/Hollywood

by scates22

I have lived in the San Diego area for awhile but I have no knowledge of LA! I have friends coming from out of state and they have always wanted to stay a night in the LA area and go out at night since they have never been there. It will only be us three girls (we are leaving the men at home!) and we are all in our late 20's. We don't want to go places where we are not going to be able to get in because you have to be on a VIP list, but we do want to stay in a place that is fun and has a good night life with fun places to go to at night. Does anyone have any suggestions of areas to stay, hotels and restaurants/bars? Thank you so much!!

Century club is pretty good.

Pasadena Colorado Blvd is a happening place at night. Not too far from it is a shopping plaza. Everything is free, just walk around, enjoy the sights, sounds, people, etc. There's tons of shopping stores, as well as restaurants and bars, even a movie theater tuck away.

Hey,
Id say stay on the sunset strip. That way everything will be close by and if you stay in a hip hotel you will automatically be in their club ie: The Mondrian Hotel has The Sky Bar, The Standard Hotel has the poolside club/bar, The Hyatt has a new spot inside that I havent seen yet and you could walk to The House of Blues, Viper room etc etc etc. Personally, I like the downtown Standard hotel and rooftop bar and for clubs Avalon in Hollywood

Close to the Hyatt and Mondrian, walk to House of Blues & comedy clubs & restaurants & shops, short ride up to Hollywood & Highland or over to Beverly Hills. Nice hotel, smaller than most so easy in & out and personal help from the desk.

hi scates22

try universal city walk. hotels are right there and so are a couple of clubs, lots of restaurants and a movie theater.

the saddle ranch club is cool on a friday and saturday night. lots of people show up and it free to get in which is unusual. there's usually a cover charge for the clubs here in la.

also, if you wanted to checkout the hollywood area all you have to do is hop on the redline subway into hollywood at the bottom of the hill from universal. i think it's only one or two stops away.
