Very Nice Concierge Staff

I stayed here on a business trip, so I don't remember how affordable it was. The lobby and interior use a lot of outdated bare cement columns, particularly dismal in winter. The hotel features something they call the "heavenly bed" and the "heavenly shower"--still not sure what was supposed to be heavenly about them, but everything was clean and in order. My coworker mentioned that he could hear the phone conversations of the person in the room next to his, but I didn't have any problems like that.

What I liked was the concierge staff--supernice and helpful. They gave us lots of maps, a great restaurant list we used every night, and some tourist magazines.

Unique Quality: The concierge staff is the best part of this hotel. The other good thing is that the restaurant on top of it is said to have one of the best views of the city.

LOS ANGELES FINEST HOTEL

Adventure Bonaventure In the Heart of Downtown LA

Can't say that I stayed here but I absolutely love the architecture and ambience inside!

This world-class hotel is more like a city within a giant metropolis.

Have a drink or dine here if you don't want to splurge for a room!

Unique Quality: It is very Asian-friendly. I see Japanese businessmen here often. Many quality restaurants of Japanese, Thai and other fine cuisine.

Bonaventure's View at the Top

I have never stayed here since I am an Angelino. But it's a great place to have drinks at the top at a revolving restaurant. There is a restaurant , but also later at night you can have coctails and appetizers/dessert in a fancy setting/great for those after formal events. They used to have fancy glasses with daiquiri's for $11 (could be more now)/take home souvenir. Or you can lounge in the basement's bar area.

Also used to be show's opener for It's a living. I think.

If you're going to be in Downtown for business, the WESTIN BONAVENTURE HOTEL is another cool place I don't mind recommending...

The 35-storey Westin Bonaventure is a futuristic structure and the city's largest hotel. Made up of five cylindrical, mirrored-glass towers; it looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.... with glass elevators shooting up through the roof of the lobby and racing up the sides of the glistening high-rise. Visible from Harbor Freeway, it is one of the most recognizable buildings on the downtown horizon..... along with City Hall and the Music Center, of course. In fact, it is one of the ten most-photographed buildings in the world! No mean feat indeed.

P.S. If you have seen one of Harrison Ford's earlier movies - 'The Blade Runner' (a sci-fi thriller)... you'd find this hotel very familiar.
