    Hidden Valley Condos

These condos are located about a five minute walk away from the village. In my opinion, it's the best area in town. You are walking distance away from shops, restaurants and the gondola to Canyon Lodge. This complex has about 50 units and most of them are rented out throughout the year. Mammoth reservations bureau, http://www.mammothvacations.com/CondoDetails.aspx?CondoID=14, is the rental agency for these condos.

Unique Quality: Hidden Valley has a pool and two hot tubs and saunas. One hot tub/sauna is indoors and the other outdoors.

Travel Tips for Mammoth Lakes

Ski in the winter. I've lived...

by rustreckless

Ski in the winter. I've lived 14 of the last 16 years in Colorado, and they don't have anything on Mammoth...an awesome huge mountain with outstanding steeps! And, summer or winter, the peaks of the Eastern High Sierra are a spectacular sight...rugged, spikey, inspiring! Skiing the back country and virtually every named peak between Mammoth and Tom's Place. I don't think I can make it to the top of some of them now, but good memories. Lot's of open ski runs. Some of the best skiing is in the Springtime 'corn snow' season.

Devils Postpile and Rainbow Falls

by Roadquill

During the summer drive on past Mammoth Lakes on Hwy 203 and go on to Devils Postpile and Rainbow Falls. Beautiful valley.

However, even in July there could still be snow, so bring a few layers.

Mill Cafe on the Mountain

by giampiero6

On the whole, food at ski places in America is pretty average and the experience pretty caferia like. (This is a big disadvantage to Euro skiing) One pleasant exception is the Mill Creek cafe which features really tasty grilled and other food in a nice fireplace warmed chalet experience. The tri-tip sandwiches are good and the garlic fries are popular. I HIGHLY recommend that youcome here during non-peak times. After 2 or before noon as it gets really crowded. In fact I suggest eating at 11 ish to beat the rush. Tri-Tip Sandwich! And Garlic Fries and the delicious and refreshing Caesar salad! mmm Hot Chocolate.

Mammoth Mountain

by goingsolo

The Mammoth Mountain ski area becomes a summer recreation paradise with a host of activities. From here, you can catch the shuttle bus to Devils Postpile National Monument and other dayhiking and backpacking destinations. The gondola will take you to the top of the mountain for great views of the Sierra. Bikes are available for rent and there's a rockwall for those who want to practice their skills.

During Labor Day weekend, the area was a frenzy of activity with people partaking in the various activities while enjoying the perfect weather. Although the eastern Sierra region is brutally hot in the summer with temps near or over 100 degrees, Mammoth's elevation means cooler summer temperatures, which make it easier to take advantage of all of the activities.

Go snowboarding! Skiing! ...

by bruingirl

Go snowboarding! Skiing! Whatever it is that you do! Just get up on the mountain! The snow is great and the runs are challenging enough to keep even the most experienced skiers and boarders plenty entertained! For tickets and current snow conditions, please check out the website I've listed below. Tickets usually run about $60/adult/weekend day. If you visit enough, you can buy a season pass in the spring for about $400!! It's only available to the first several hundred people though.... :(
