Golf here
I haven't stayed here myself. It is near where I work. PF Chang's is across the street.
Unique Quality: They have a 9 hole golf course between the hotel and Raliegh Studios. If you have a 24 hour fitness membership, there is a gym near by.

BUSINESS AS USUAL
We stayed at the Manhattan Beach Marriott for 3 nights because we had a business meeting here. Unfortunately the first day of our meeting was also the first day on which we were woken up by blue skies and bright sunshine so this nice hotel felt like a big trap somehow.
Apart from that it was ok here. There were a few downsides though:
Staff (apart from the valet parking guys who greeted us with a smile every morning) could have been a lot friendlier. Some of the receptionists were rather grumpy!
There was no fridge in our room. (But an ice machine in the hall)
Breakfast wasn't included in the room price.
No smoking at the lobby bar ;-)
Unique Quality: The hotel has a very nice 9 hole pitch and putt course as well as a pool area. No need to mention that we didn't get the chance to try any of these features.
Rooms are either with golfcourse view or with car park view. No need to mention that we got one with car park view ;-)
The beds were fantastic, it was very hard to get up in the morning though ;-)

Largest Hotel in Manhattan Beach
Since I live here, I've never stayed at this Marriott myself, but I've had friends stay there and I've visited the Marriott often. It is located just off Rosecrans in the business district of Manhattan Beach and El Segundo. There are stores and restaurants nearby (walking)including Bristol Farms Market, Houstons Restaurant, Johnny Rockets, Jamba Juice, Subway, etc. Starbucks is across Rosecrans and so is Flemings.

Unique Quality: There is a small 9 hole golf course at the Marriott. It's a pitch and put, but it's fun and cheap. They have a pool, where you can sit and overlook the golf course. They have a tennis complex nearby where they play or used to play (i'm not sure if they moved the tourney to Carson... they've been talking about moving it) the women's WTA event.
It's a large full service hotel. If you want a smaller Marriott chain hotel nearby, there is the Townplace Suites and the Spring Hill Suites both on Aviation. They are officially in Hawthorne but very close to the Marriott Manhattan Beach

I stayed at Manhattan Beach Marriott for three nights this year. It was clean and not too far from the beach (a few minutes by cab) - you have to lucky to get a reasonable price though...
