More about Residence Inn Manhattan Beach

Loved it!

by TripAdvisor Member susiepoosie

This place is awesome! Close to the airport, easy to get on major highways. Staff were very friendly and the room was big, clean and comfy. Breakfast was awesome too. Lots of good new movies, and GREAT shower! We would definitely stay here again.

Much better than expected!

We stayed at the Residence Inn on our way to Newport Beach. The location was great, staff friendly, and the room incredible! Soft linens, amazing bed with pillowtop, sitting area, huge studio with full kitchen, and updated bathroom. Honestly, I didn't expect to love this place as much as I did, but we'll definitely be back.

Pretty Good Again

This was probably my 10th stay here. I use it to get away in my own hometown. I had the basic studio room. Love the touches of one free bag of popcorn and in room coffee. The sheets/comforter were good. Did not utilize the free breakfast this time.

My only complaint is the front desk staff, who on all of my occasions there, are slow and seem put out by anything you need from them.

Location, Helpful Staff, Full Breakfast-Can't Be Beat!

Located just a block north of Manhatten Beach Blvd, the Inn is an easy stroll to the beach and the numerous shops and restaurants that serve the beach area. We had a street level unit which was clean, comfortable and included a full kitchen. While we didn't utilize the kitchen, we did utilize the propane grills provided for guests next to the pool for a steak cookout and the staff gladly provided the required cooking utensils. The daily full breakfast was fabulous with a good selection of breakfast items including Belgian Waffles which guests prepared themselves. Although our stay did not include a weeknight stay, we did notice that Monday thru Thursday complimentary food items as well as beverages are provided during the late afternoon. There's a small business center with a computer which enabled us to print out our boarding passes before going to the airport. Located just a few miles south of LAX we were able to take Sepulveda directly into the airport to return the rental car and avoid the freeway during rush hour. The only concern I had during my stay was the small-sized parking spaces. Overall we loved the Inn and its location and only wish we had time for a longer stay.

Great Manhattan Beach Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member Waveluver

I brought four teens with me for a conference in Manhattan Beach. The brakes went out on my car when we got into town, fortunately not somewhere on the road. We did managed to make it safely to the Residence Inn. Our original plans were to go to the beach before checking into the hotel, but the car situation took care of that. We went into the hotel office to see if the kids could swim while getting repairs to the car. Not only did the kids get to swim, they offered to let us check in to our room at 11:00 A.M. !

The front desk people were so accomodating for our whole stay.

We rented the Penthouse suite. It was set up like a small apartment with an upstairs loft and bathroom and a downstairs spacious bedroom with bath and a separate living area. The beds were comfy....Three TV's, a nice kitchen....and a great deluxe breakfast each morning. The rooms were clean and the grounds well kept . Residence Inn appeared to be the nicest property in that area.

We will certainly stay here again if in the area.

great value!

had a very nice stay at the hotel. it is very spacioius and clean. there were a couple of minor things wrong with the room when we checked in. as soon as they were informed, the hotel staff promptly and courteously took care of them.
the breakfasts were excellent: make- your- own- belgian waffles, very tasty scrambled eggs, potatoes, variety of cereals, breads, yogurt, fruits, and really excellent (!) coffee! the dining area was promptly cleaned up after each guest too.
while at breakfast, augustin, the sales mgr asked us how our stay was going and if they could be of service in any way. also, when we checked in, janet, at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. the personnel there - from front desk to housekeeper to dining room help were all courteous and efficient.
we have stayed at many hotels, from hyatts, doubletree suites, embassy suites, hiltons - we found this to be one of the best vaues we have ever experienced. i would definitely return to this hotel if i stayed in manhattan beach again.

Home from home

by TripAdvisor Member clarkwgriswoldx

Stayed at the Residence Inn for 9 nights last year and absolutely loved it.

The marketing slogan is "your home from home" ... it couldn't be more accurate. After a very long flight and rental car collection the last thing you want is any problem with your accommodation, I'm pleased to report that checking in was a breeze.

The rooms are like small apartments and are clean and safe. The daily breakfast was a great way to start the day, but there are plenty of places to eat in downtown Manhattan Beach (try Uncle Bill's for breakfast) which is two minutes away by car, maybe a ten minute walk.

Also available is a free early evening meal which changes each day. I heartily recommend this as sometimes we didn't really want to go to a restaurant and wanted to chill out with a snack round the pool, and barbeque night was perfect!

If I can afford to back to LA I will definitely stay at the Residence Inn again.

Excellent

Stayed one night prior to a flight out.

Check in - excellent front desk staff, let us check in early and was very nice about it too!

Room; Spacious, clean, well equiped (had everything you would need for a self catering hoiday) incl. microwave, cooker, dishwasher, fridge etc. (No washer/dryer though). We had a first floor room/apartment so we had to climb some stairs.

Location; excellent - about 1.5 miles to Manhattan Beach (walked it in 30 minutes) - a 15-20minute drive to LAX (Taxi cost $15). Also out of the Inn turn Right and walk for 10 minutes and you will find some places to eat (we ate at Chilis). There is also an order in service from the local restaurants.

Services; Pool was lovely and warm - great for kids!! BBQs out by the pool for general use. Didnt see the gym so cannot comment.

Food; Breakfast was included in the rate and was really good value, cannot fault it!

We have travelled the world and this hotel was great value and if we returned to LA we would defintely use it again.
