Wonderful place!

We stayed at the Marina Dunes Resort in February and loved it! We got a jr. suite through ------ for $107.50. The room was classified as "dunes view" and, indeed, there was a lovely view of the dunes out the bedroom window. We also had ocean views through the sliding glass doors that led to our patio. The sitting area surrounding the fireplace was very comfortable with a leather sofa and chair. The bed was the most comfortable we had on our entire trip (better than Hyatt or Marriott). The room was immaculate, the staff very friendly and efficient, and our stay was completely relaxing and enjoyable. We would absolutely stay here again!
Romantic, excellent retreat.

Just superb. We booked in for 2 nights in a deluxe room overlooking the ocean. The room was immaculate and better than some places I have paid twice as much for (we did get a good internet deal) with gorgeous decor and panoramic views of the ocean. We then went to Santa Barabara and missed Marina Dunes so much we drove back a day early for a thrid night before we came home. Very romantic and would be a great winter retreat with huge log effect gas fire making it very cosy.

My husband I just returned from our trip to California. We stayed at the Monetery Hotel and Spa, Inn at Spanish Bay and ended our trip at the Marina Dunes. We got a package deal called the, " Lazy Days." We recieve breakfast every morning to our room, wine upon arrival, and cheese/crackers and a wonderful blanket for a beach picnic.
Unfortuantly, due to the fog we were not able to enjoy it outside. We did get a Deluxe Suite that was very private and looked out over the water. It was wonderful hearing the waves at night. The suite was nothing fancy. However, it was clean and nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. My husband got a massage there and said it was wonderful!
The fire places in your room makes it very romantic (not wood burning).
The golf carts were a little silly but fun. For dinner drive into Montery for great seafood at the fisherman's pier. Even drive into Carmel for a great shopping and a dinning experience (not far away).
Whale watching-don't go in October esp. if there is fog in the forcast!
We had 12-foot swells and did not see a whale. Would we stay here again probably not, but we were not disapointed that we did.
Pretty View, Nice Room, So So Staff

Stayed here for one night in Feb. 2004. Very relaxing atmosphere and views. Don't really know where the "Preservation Fee" are going. Room had nice furnishing and comfortable bed despite being really small.
Golf carts were a cute idea, if you get a covered one, keep an eye on it, ours were 'stolen'. Staff was ambivalent and not friendly or helpful. Got the aquarium package so the room was a deal, would not pay more than $150 for it. Very peaceful and relaxing though.
