There are weekend concerts (Saturday and Sunday) in Fisherman's Village, Marina del Rey throughout the year, weather permiting. They are usually jazz, salsa, rhythm and blues or old time rock and roll. During the winter months, the time is 1 to 4pm and in the summer months it's usually 2 to 5pm. Again, if the weather is very cold or rainy, the concerts are cancelled. They take place in the Lighthouse Plaza area. For a list of the entertainers/bands contact the Visitors Center, 310/305-9545 -- they usually get an update monthly. Or you can contact Pacific Ocean Management that contracts the groups at 310/822-6866.

biking from marina del rey to the farmer's market

you may have to grin and bear it. it's hard to find a bus going from marina del rey to long beach. i was in england and had to learn to drive on the opposite side of the road AND the opposite side of the car. it took a bit, well, a bit of stress, coming out of london but you can do it!
marina del rey's farmer's market is accessible by bike, if you're actually staying in marina del rey. when you say the courtyard, are you talking about the mariott? that is what comes up when i do a search.
i'm sure the courtyard could give you a recommendation on bike rental shops, but here's what i found with a simple google search of bike rentals in marina del rey.

Walk to the end of the marina...

Walk to the end of the marina and back hehe, it's a long and relaxing walk. Dog fights hehe, my dogs are over protective of me. They bark at every dog they see. What can I do? Well.. what I always do is that I carry them on my shoulders as if they were parrots so they would keep quiet :)

There's a good chance you'll cross paths with a celebrity now and then...they're people too, if you have to greet them, do so discreetly and they will normally respond.
Stalking is a federal offense here :-)) Gawking can also be counter-productive.
Always have a sweater or Jacket

Comfortable shoes,shorts,a windbreaker, and casual slacks. It can get quite cold at the Marina, and the wind can be chilly. Sun Screen Bring lots of film and don't forget your battery charger or extra batteries.
Rent Blades or a Bike and Cruise the Bike Path

One of LA's nicest tourist attractions is the long bike path that snakes its way through the sands of the beach. It's mostly flat and winds it's way from Pacific Palisades in the North all the way past the Santa Monica Pier, the Venice (Freak) Boardwalk, through the Marina and across the Channel down to Playa del Rey and Manhattan Beach. It's a full days ride but any portion of it is extremely pleasant. You can stop off at cafes, restaurants and bars and watch beautiful, the weird, and the insane. You can rent Blades, Skates and Bikes all along the path, but in the Marina, there are several Kiosks on Washington at the beach. See the prices in the pic. This is a place on Washington right by the board walk.
