Big Box Motel, Busy

This is a little tourist mecca unto itself. The revolving door approach to tourists leaves this motel well used and a little rundown for wear and tear. The hotel is not overpriced for the quality but it would not be my first choice for a family.

Unique Quality: I believe the related restaraunt has been closed due to health violations (10/05). The Miner's Inn bar is the only one of it's type in Mariposa.

Inoffensive motel ideally placed for Yosemite

I've stayed at the Miner's Inn several times and every time had a good stay. It's a big place with plenty of parking space, pleasant swimming pool, wipe-clean-style family restaurant, desperate-for-a-drink bar and a friendly enough reception. It's too far from downtown Mariposa to walk easily so you'll either drive down there or eat at the Inn. The rooms are comfortable, clean, rather dark. It's a good choice as an overnight stop before Yosemite, it will take about an hour from here to the park entrance.
