Comfortable hotel in cute Mill Valley

I only had the pleasure of spending one night here on a recent driving tour of California.

Mill Valley Inn is centrally located in the quaint town of Mill Valley, a twenty minute drive north of the Golden Gate Bridge and 20 miles from downtown San Francisco.

My accommodation for the night was a free standing cottage in the hotel grounds. The cottage was furnished in a minimal rustic fashion but was well appointed and had the added bonus of an open fireplace.

I used the wireless internet which is available in each guestroom at no extra charge.

The hotel rate included a decent continental breakfast and if you fancy a wine and cheese before dinner these are laid out in the covered heated terrace area from 4pm. Manager Paul makes himself available to guests at all times and his friendly welcome and demeanour is a plus for this hotel.

Covered parking is included. The only negative I can think of is a late check-in time of 4pm.

Mill Valley Inn is conveniently located close to the Muir Woods National Monument which is an easy but winding drive.

The historic town of Mill Valley has a lot to offer with cute shops and nice restaurants and a lovely laid back feel. Because of its proximity to downtown San Francisco I would imagine it is a popular location for commuting locals.

Unique Quality: The close proximity of the redwood forest gives this hotel a fresh and relaxing feel.
