I grew up in Manteca California, which is only about 15 minutes from Modesto. When I was a teenager, Modesto was the city to go to on Friday and Saturday nights. Cruising was big back then, as everyone drove on McHenry avenue. George Lucas went to high school in Mosesto, and American Grafitti was filmed here, and Grafitti Night is still an annual tradition where all the classic restored cars come out to show off their stuff.
