Modesto is a farming community that is slowly turning into housing tracks in Northern California.
Typically very hot during the summer and not a whole lot to do.
I have good friends who live here and often ask myself why. Because they couldn't afford homes in San Jose and Modesto is reasonable -plus pays teachers better. Understandable.
Good place to raise a family, bad place to be a teen with nothing to do.
