Expensive, but cheaper nearby
I tried to look for a cheap accomodation in Monterey, but really couldn't find anything to my liking that was under 100$. So we decided to stay in Marina, a small town about 15 minutes drive north of Monterey. The motel 6 is right on Highway 1, and 5 minute walk from the beach. There's Denny's right next to the motel. For just a little over thn 50$, this room with 2 queen beds was just what we needed.
