Don't judge by its cover

From its appearance, this place looks like a 1950's motel that you might not consider stopping at. After staying in 3star hotels throughout Northern CA for two weeks, my family was suspicious of my selection until we entered our room and found it to be very spacious and nicely appointed with great new beds and a huge flat panel TV. I had also opted for a kitchen though this did show it's age and we didn't use it much. Our room was one of those in the front which are separate from the main part of the premises and cost more, though well worth it when compared to some of the mediocre Best Western's we stayed in for the same price. The staff are very friendly here and across the street at the Strawberry Inn where a very nice breakfast is served in a beautiful, homey kitchen. You might also consider this hotel for it's more intimate setting.

Unique Quality: If you want to experience some of the best whitewater rafting in America, take a look at the Upper Klamath. With rapids up to class V this stretch is almost non- stop action. Veterans of rafting know that it is an expensive thrill ride and this one will not disappoint. We used Living Waters Rafting Co and had the boss: Tom Harris as our guide, truly a great guy who was really conscious of my family's safety yet hit every big hole and wave to our delight. We saw a couple other rafts get into trouble and people were injured because their guides were not as experienced and used paddles instead of oars to steer. I think this may be the only company that will pick you up in Mt. Shasta so you don't have to drive up to Oregon and if you mention Tom's name at the Woodsman they will give you a 25% discount!
