Food and drink a short walk away
"Love food? Love Castro!"
Everyone told me how great Mountain View was-- and I didn't get it. What could be so special about a little bedroom community not so far from San Jose. It was just a little suburb, right? Not quite as posh as Palo Alto or even Los Altos. But then I moved in. And I fell in love with Castro. Wow. An ever-changing array of every restaurant type that I can think of. In the last year, I think I counted five that opened up on this small street. And with that kind of competition, each one has to stand on its own. I can't say that I love them all, but I love the variety that it affords. And if that isn't enough, twice a year the street shuts down to traffic and opens itself to a food, wine and art fair, the quality of which draws people from miles around. Added to that is a diverse offering of many other activities for singles and families alike. I love Mountain View.
