More about 1801 First Napa

Loved 1801 First in Napa Valley

by A TripAdvisor Member

1801 First is not your typical bed & breakfast. I was surprised to find the modern amenities along with a charming sense of style. Located just moments away from great restaurants, wineries and just far enough away from the everyday to help you relax. Excellent attention and service; superb rooms and delicious breakfast.

1801 First in Napa, CA was WONDERFUL! I have already recommended 1801 First to all my family and friends.

1801 First-- Perfection!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Marrying for the second time, and in our mid-forties, we were looking for the perfect place to explore our love of wine and spend our honeymoon in Napa Valley. After pouring over the many hotel and bed & breakfast options on the internet, the 1801 First website really stood out. It looked so beautiful and luxurious.....and in reality, it did not disappoint!!
We stayed in the Noble Noir suite, with the fireplace, kingsize bed, huge bathtub, and a skylight that opens to allow fresh air or a view of the night stars. There are so many highlights of our stay: Sleeping in the most comfortable bed EVER..... Waking each day to the wonderful aromas of our upcoming delicious and beautiful gourmet breakfast.....The warm, friendly, knowledgeable staff that bent over backwards to make sure that all of our needs and plans are taken care of......The BEAUTY of the inn itself......Looking forward to coming "home" to each evening's social hour in the living room, with delicious wine and fabulous hors d'oeuvres while visiting with other guests.......Having the good fortune of being at the inn for a vintner's tasting from Jessup Cellars......These are just a few of the MANY treasured memories that we have of our stay at 1801 First.
This was the perfect place to spend our honeymoon! The attention to detail is amazing! We definitely plan to come back for another visit to 1801 First and will highly recommend it to everyone!!

Good Times and Wine in Napa

by A TripAdvisor Member

We recently returned from a glorious vacation in Napa Valley, California. One of the reasons for our fantastic vacation was our stay at 1801 First, an absolutely gorgeous and well managed bed and breakfast located in beautiful Downtown Napa. 1801 First provides you with fabulous hospitality by Darcy, the owner, and her entire staff; a delicious gourmet breakfast every morning; great wine and hors d'oueuvres in the evening; complimentary mini bar and snacks all through the day; and much more. I highly recommend 1801 First for a wonderful vacation.

1801 First is an absolutely wonderful B & B that serves as a gateway to the Napa Valley. From the extremely knowledgeable and dedicated staff, the wonderful rooms, great breakfasts, the ever-present choclate chip cookies to afternoon wine and hors d ouvres,we did not want for anything during our stay. We would highly recomend particularily for those who are celebrating a special ocasion

We recently spent our honeymoon in the Carriage House of 1801 First... we had an amazing time! A two sided fireplace backed up to a two person Jacuzzi, the king sized bed and flat screen TV made our stay unforgettable, and the service was top notch. We woke every morning to a three course gourmet breakfast while the staff briefed us on our daily itinerary. Then each evening we were greeted with delicious hors dorves and wine of our choice. Thank you 1801! We can't wait to return for our first anniversary!

A wonderful botique Inn, beautiful rooms, great food, wine and staff!!

After having stayed in many hotels and Inns all over the world I would very highly recommend this one to anyone!!! I think it was truly a great find.

Really enjoyed this inn

by A TripAdvisor Member

I had high expectations of this place, all of which were exceeded. My husband and I stayed in the Bella Fresia Suite, which was quite large. The bed felt like heaven, and the large tub was fabulous.
We also really enjoyed the special gourmet treats. We had soft chocolate truffles upon arrival. The evening hors d'oeuvres were more than just the typical wine and cheese - there were specially prepared bites that were so abundant we felt no need to head out for dinner. The breakfasts were also great.
This place is ideal for folks who like a small, intimate and luxurious bed & breakfast in the heart of the Napa Valley Wine Country. We can't wait to go back.

Nice but a little exagerated advertising

by A TripAdvisor Member

Good location for both Napa and Sonoma. Great breakfasts and friendly staff. Knowledge of the area was pretty standard and favored a few friends' wineries. No knowledge of Sonoma at all. Website pictures and written descriptions make the rooms seem warm, large and plush. Rooms are nice but they are not what's described on the internet. So this comment is more about appropriate expectations than the quality of the rooms. Beds are pretty comfortable and the bathroom is a nice size. TV in our room was small but that didn't matter too much. Only real issue was that we (very clearly) heard the couple next to us having a "great" time very early a few mornings.

We had to leave a day early and they were very accomodating. Also, very helpful in sending wine home.

Overall, we liked the inn a lot. But not enough to stop trying other places to stay in Napa/Sonoma.

Lovely Inn

Our room was lovely. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres were eagerly anticpated. We couldn't have imagined a more wonderful experience to the Napa Valley and can not wait to return.
