More about Arbor Guest House

Outstanding hospitality

by TripAdvisor Member door1954

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Arbor Guest House. We can't say enough about the outstanding hospitality we were shown during our visit. Beverly, the inn keeper, was friendly, helpful, and very attentive to the needs of all her guests. She was more than willing to share her tips on getting the best experience in Napa. The breakfasts and afternoon snacks were great as well. We also met some really nice people while we were there. It was great to share our wine tasting stories at breakfast. We stayed in the Summer Garland room. Very clean and organized.

Lovely place for a weekend!

by TripAdvisor Member KC_in_Anaheim

We had a short time in Napa for a relaxing weekend (special occasion) and happened upon Arbor Guest House - what a great find! We will definitely return. The room was charming and comfortable, the breakfast was very nicely prepared, and the setting was just what we hoped to find. Our hostess/innkeeper took great care of us!

Feels Like Home

by TripAdvisor Member LaveyNevada

This was our 4th stay at the Arbor Guest House - everytime we go to Napa this is the only place we will stay. The Southern hospitality is very welcoming. Beverly's special touches make you feel like you are staying with family. The location is centrally located, the grounds are absolutely beautiful - it is so nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy your meals, or just a quiet and relaxing evening. The breakfast dishes that are prepared "fresh" every morning are absolutley delicious - througout the day there are cookies, danishes, etc. that are set out in the dining/sitting room for your enjoyment .
Then you have "Oliver" who is the most lovable and friendly
little dog you could ever meet - he is always there to greet you with his wagging tail ! All in all - the Arbor Guest House is
a Five Star property.

Sincerely,

Denise Leach and Rick Hays

Sweet & Comfortable

by TripAdvisor Member eWineTraveler

This was our first trip to Napa Valley. I was a bit surprised to see that the Arbor Guest House was in what seemed to be a not-so-great residential area. It was away from Downtown Napa however, Napa is easy to get around so it wasn't a problem. Susan and Beverly were extremely friendly and we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was great and we especially enjoyed the evening snacks. The B&B grounds were beautiful, the rooms were clean and spacious. However, the claw foot tub/shower was a bit uncomfortable to use and there was too little table space to place belongings. Both minor complaints and would still recommend Arbor House.

Fantastic B&B

by TripAdvisor Member dsm_sf

We’re writing to make a glowing recommendation of Beverly and the Arbor Guest House in Napa, CA. (This may sound too good to be true, but promise we just found our way here by looking online and aren’t in cahoots with Beverly!) We found this wonderful B&B online and took a chance and were enchanted with the results. We arrived at 3:30pm to meet Beverly, the innkeeper who welcomed us. She gave us the keys, showed us around, told us where we could find everything and had some great recommendations for out-of-the-way wineries to visit the next day. She pointed out teatime snacks that included cream sherry, many delicious homemade goodies (fresh baked chocolate chip cookies among others), tea, and cheese and crackers.

When was the last time you saw pictures of a room online and when you got to your room, it was actually bigger than the picture? Well that’s what happened for us. Our room, Rose’s Bower, was like staying in a home. The bed was very spacious and comfortable, the clawfoot tub added to the rustic feel and the attention to details like candles set above the fireplace with a lighter at the ready made us feel like we’d been spirited away. We slept soundly in the quiet of the neighborhood and awoke to go to breakfast at a time we’d established the night before with Beverly.

What a breakfast! We lingered for an hour and a half just so we could keep eating her gourmet food. Seriously, we told Beverly that she could open a restaurant. Eggs Florentine, indescribable French toast with blueberries and pecans that melted in your mouth but wasn’t overly sweet, homemade cinnamon buns, carefully peeled and sliced fruit with vanilla yogurt, and good strong coffee, with no rush from Beverly made us truly feel that we were in the lap of luxury.

The rates are incredibly reasonable. The garden setting complete with fountain, fragrant rose bushes and private tables and garden chairs; and the amazing food and gracious hospitality make this B&B one we’ll definitely return to in the future.

Choose Another B&B

by TripAdvisor Member Bergundie

My boyfriend and I stayed at Arbor Guest House in early November to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. One of the reasons I chose this B&B
was I thoroughly impressed with the excellent reviews former guests posted on Trip Advisor, especially the hospitality element. We used this trip as a chance to relax and getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were especially eager to be exposed to the “southern hospitality” most of the reviews referenced. Unfortunately, we were quite taken aback by the way were treated by the Innkeeper. She was not very helpful as her answers to our questions were very short. The
final blow occurred during our final morning at breakfast. The Innkeeper reminded us to pay by asking for a credit card while we were
eating in front of the other guests!!! I found this to be terribly rude and disrespectful. Especially, since I’m the one who reserved the
room with my credit card for my boyfriend’s birthday. I definitely do not recommend staying at the Arbor Guest House unless it’s the last resort.

Wine Country Trip

A wonderful experience. From the well decorated, clean, bright room to the location close to downtown, the Arbor Guest House was a complete jewel. Susan and Beverly are the best people you could hope to find on a mini or longer stay in the Napa Valley. Susan handled all the on-line arrangements and answered all my questions quickly. When we arrived, a late arrival by the way, our room keys and instructions were waiting for us and the lights were on in our room to guide our way. The next morning we were warmly greeted by Susan and Beverly. The breakfast, included with your stay, was a first class, gourmet meal. Beverly is a fantastic cook and just a real "doll". Her dog Oliver is also very cute and well behaved. My wife and I had a great time in Napa and the stay at the Arbor House was a major influence on our enjoyment. We are looking forward to a return stay in a warmer month when the gardens will be in full bloom.

Charming Arbor House

by TripAdvisor Member kipellen

We just returned from a short stay at the Arbor Guest House
in Napa. It is located on a quiet residential street within easy driving distance to the becoming-upscale downtown area and not far from Copia,
Oxbow Public Market, etc.

Beverly welcomed us most warmly in the afternoon with an orientation to the amenities of the inn and our room (Spring Fancy
upstairs in the main house) and on the sideboard and dining table were fresh cookies, a fruit tart
and coffee/tea, etc. She explained our breakfast options, checking to see if we had any particular dietary concerns or
restrictions, and let us know what our menu choices were for the next morning's breakfast.

We had a great rest in our Victorian-themed room with a private bath and big clawfoot tub. Breakfast was delicious; I had a
frittata made with leeks and potatoes and my husband had a cheese-chili souffle. Fresh pineapple, yogurt and mandarin oranges began our meal, with a cinnamon roll and the egg dishes, accompanied by chicken-apple sausage, following
shortly. We were also offered fresh oranges from the tree in the
property's backyard- yummy!

Susan the innkeeper was also there in the morning serving
breakfast and offering a couple of the marathon-runners a bag
of fresh orange slices to take with them as they prepared for
the next day's big event. Both Susan and Beverly were friendly
and helpful, assisting departing guests with luggage,
offering directions to local activities, and making everyone feel
welcome and comfortable.

We would return in a heartbeat!

Best B&B For Your Buck!

by TripAdvisor Member ryan_simms

True B&B class without the Napa B&B price. This place was everything my fiance and I wanted for our stay. The house has quaint character andcomfortable beds/rooms. Breakfast in the back garden was elegant, but relaxing. Included in our stay, was a choice from three different gourmet breakfast entrees. We relaxed in the morning sun surrounded by trees and lush greenery. Best of all, the house's host, Beverly, was amazing. Her sweet, Southern charm and flawless attention to every detail of our stay made us feel pampered, but never bothered. She even found me some ibuprofin at my request. In Napa, money simply cannot buy better service than Beverly's, and for this price bracket, you simply won't find a more beautiful house and garden.

Spring Fancy

After conference business in a non-descript (albeit high end) San Francisco hotel, the Arbor Guest House was an immediate welcome to Napa Valley! Laid back, easy going and without ego, Beverly and Susan were the perfect hosts. A delightful greeting, a heavenly bed, a perfect garden and a bountiful, tasteful gourmet breakfast that will surpass all expectations are to be had.

Within easy walking distance to downtown establishments, Arbor guest house is bound to delight those that are in earnest search of a true Napa Valley experience. Leave pretense behind, relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings that are provided.

And, be sure to say hello to Oliver, the resident dog. The home grown oranges are wonderful. Having stayed at top Inns worldwide, this was a true pleasure. Simple elegance!
